NIAS is a (granting) organization with an international and interdisciplinary focus. It plays an important role in facilitating and stimulating innovative (Dutch) excellent research within the Humanities and the Social Sciences and at the interface with other disciplines. NIAS offers residential fellowships to selected individual scholars and research groups from all over the world, and hosts small international workshops and debates.
