3. On 14th January 2016 Eurocast in Poland held an
Open House for customers where the BOBST K5000
was presented. Around 70 visitors from 15 countries
attended and heard a number of presentations
including one from Krzysztof Wisniewski, CEO of
Eurocast and Piotr Szymczak, Chief Operating Officer
from Eurocast as well as Carolin Struller, Research
Associate from BOBST.
During his presentation, Krzysztof Wisniewski, CEO,
emphasized the versatility of the new range of
machines which includes the BOBST K5000; there are
currently no other companies in Europe which offer
their customers such a wide range of new
technologies.
Piotr Szymczak’s presentation was about the BOBST
K5000 AlOx machine which is the first of its type in
Poland and allows for coating of the film with a layer of
aluminium oxide.The BOBST K5000 significantly
improves quality control of the barrier coating process
and thanks to the double plasma treatment it
significantly improves the adhesion to the film and
printability.
Carolin Struller’s presentation focused on the BOBST
AlOx process for the production of high barrier
transparent film which allows for easy viewing of the
packaged product and is an interesting option for
innovative packaging solutions. Films with AIOx are
also another step towards environmental
responsibility. The packaging can be easily recycled,
unlike other materials, with the same or even lower
price. A very thin but durable coating layer means a
decrease in the material consumption, and thus, in the
cost of the final packaging.
