TRAINING AND ITS TYPES
CROSS CULTURAL TRAINING
• As the world is converting in a global village and every company
and organizations have employees from different cultures of the
world hence the Cross Culture Training is a good way of
managing diversity in an organization.
• Cross Culture Training is defined as a procedure or practice to
increase an individual’s ability to perform well in different cultural
environment. Cross-cultural training contributes in increasing
ability of employees to understand culture of others, values and
ethos of another culture. It develops the interest to understand
employees own background and cultural heritage.
• They should feel good about own culture and similar way the
employees should accept and appreciate culture of other
employees. For example, employees of American culture should
know and appreciate own culture and further in same way accept
and appreciate culture of African and Asian also. This helps a lot in
adjustment with the people of other cultures and many related
problems can be avoided.
The cross-culture training is getting important day-by-day and it
helps in the following:
1. Working in different culture countries.
2. Collaboration for working on one project with teams from other countries
different cultures.
3. Working of divisions or departments of the company in different countries.
4. Suppliers from other countries for outsource activities.
5. Customers located in different countries of different cultures.
6. When partners and alliances with parties from diversified cultures.
TYPES OF CROSS CULTURAL TRAINING
Under the shadow of cross-cultural awareness, education,
and coaching fall several minor, but distinct types of
training. Cross culture training is classified in 5 different
types. These can be used individually or in parallel.
1. TRAINING FOR DEALING CROSS-CULTURAL
CHALLENGES:
• Diversity of culture is making a lot of challenges for workers to
perform well in their fields and it effects the working and
performance of the company. In this type of training different
methods, techniques, strategies and practices are used to
highlight the workplace of different countries. The workforce
gets aware regarding those things and given training how to
come over those problems and enhance their working.
2. TRAINING FOR DIVERSIFIED
WORKFORCE
• Due to globalization in business activities, a lot of job
opportunities are made available across the world. The
multinational companies during their business have employed
talented employees from different countries. The workforce due
to this has become highly diversified. The management faces an
uphill task to deal with this diversified manpower. For that
purpose the management is provided training to develop
awareness regarding cultural elements, values and behavior.
3. TRAINING ON SPECIFIC
COUNTRY:
• If there is a situation when a company is working in a particular
country and there is need to understand the cultures of different
part of that country only. Training should be conducted on the
awareness of culture of that country. The training should be
provided regarding geographical location, climate, culture,
economy, behavior of people of that countries, consumption
pattern, social and moral values etc. This would create
awareness of managers and help in dealing the customers,
clients, partners, employees and consultant.
4. TRAINING IN MANAGEMENT
PRACTICES:
• The training provided to the managerial staff to perform their
duties with the diversified cultures and manpower of the world.
This training use different highlighted practices, methods,
techniques, strategies and philosophies used by the
management of the different country organizations. It enables
the management to understand different managerial activities
across the global markets and guides them to work with cross-
culture teams.
5. TRAINING FOR CONDUCTING
NEGOTIATIONS:
• During different business activities one needs companies needs
to take many decisions like when finalizing a deal about
business, deciding partners, creating joint ventures or breaches
of company and talking to dealers etc, they got involved in
negotiation and it’s very difficult to negotiate with the parties of
different cultures.
• In this type of training, they create awareness regarding cultural
background and negotiation skills to deal with cross-cultural
parties.

CROSS CULTURAL TRAINING • As the world is converting in a global village and every company and organizations have employees from different cultures of the world hence the Cross Culture Training is a good way of managing diversity in an organization. • Cross Culture Training is defined as a procedure or practice to increase an individual’s ability to perform well in different cultural environment. Cross-cultural training contributes in increasing ability of employees to understand culture of others, values and ethos of another culture. It develops the interest to understand employees own background and cultural heritage.

For example, employees of American culture should know and appreciate own culture and further in same way accept and appreciate culture of African and Asian also. This helps a lot in adjustment with the people of other cultures and many related problems can be avoided.
  • 4. The cross-culture training is getting important day-by-day and it helps in the following: 1. Working in different culture countries. 2. Collaboration for working on one project with teams from other countries different cultures. 3. Working of divisions or departments of the company in different countries. 4. Suppliers from other countries for outsource activities. 5. Customers located in different countries of different cultures. 6. When partners and alliances with parties from diversified cultures.
  • 5. TYPES OF CROSS CULTURAL TRAINING Under the shadow of cross-cultural awareness, education, and coaching fall several minor, but distinct types of training. Cross culture training is classified in 5 different types. These can be used individually or in parallel.

TRAINING FOR DEALING CROSS-CULTURAL CHALLENGES: • Diversity of culture is making a lot of challenges for workers to perform well in their fields and it effects the working and performance of the company. In this type of training different methods, techniques, strategies and practices are used to highlight the workplace of different countries. The workforce gets aware regarding those things and given training how to come over those problems and enhance their working.
  • 7. 2. TRAINING FOR DIVERSIFIED WORKFORCE • Due to globalization in business activities, a lot of job opportunities are made available across the world. The multinational companies during their business have employed talented employees from different countries. The workforce due to this has become highly diversified. The management faces an uphill task to deal with this diversified manpower. For that purpose the management is provided training to develop awareness regarding cultural elements, values and behavior.

TRAINING ON SPECIFIC COUNTRY: • If there is a situation when a company is working in a particular country and there is need to understand the cultures of different part of that country only. Training should be conducted on the awareness of culture of that country. The training should be provided regarding geographical location, climate, culture, economy, behavior of people of that countries, consumption pattern, social and moral values etc. This would create awareness of managers and help in dealing the customers, clients, partners, employees and consultant.

This training use different highlighted practices, methods, techniques, strategies and philosophies used by the management of the different country organizations. It enables the management to understand different managerial activities across the global markets and guides them to work with cross- culture teams.

TRAINING FOR CONDUCTING NEGOTIATIONS: • During different business activities one needs companies needs to take many decisions like when finalizing a deal about business, deciding partners, creating joint ventures or breaches of company and talking to dealers etc, they got involved in negotiation and it’s very difficult to negotiate with the parties of different cultures. • In this type of training, they create awareness regarding cultural background and negotiation skills to deal with cross-cultural parties.
