अनुवाद: श्रीकृष्ण-संकीर्तन की परम विजय हो जो हृदय में वर्षों से संचित मल का मार्जन करने वाला तथा बारम्बार जन्म-मृत्यु रूपी दावानल को शांत करने वाला है । यह संकीर्तन यज्ञ मानवता के लिए परम कल्याणकारी है क्योंकि चन्द्र-किरणों की तरह शीतलता प्रदान करता है। समस्त अप्राकृत विद्या रूपी वधु का यही जीवन है । यह आनंद के सागर की वृद्धि करने वाला है और नित्य अमृत का आस्वादन कराने वाला है ॥१॥
हेतुः फलानुसन्धान न विद्यते यस्यां सा अहैतुकी

अनुवाद: हे नन्दतनुज ! मैं आपका नित्य दास हूँ किन्तु किसी कारणवश मैं जन्म-मृत्यु रूपी इस सागर में गिर पड़ा हूँ । कृपया मुझे अपने चरणकमलों की धूलि बनाकर मुझे इस विषम मृत्युसागर से मुक्त करिये ॥५॥
चेतो-दर्पण-मार्जनम् tatpurusha that which cleanses our mind like a mirror. Why mind is compared with mirror. When dirty, it doesn't save the purpose. When clean it gives vision
भव-महा-दावाग्नि-निर्वापणम् tatpurusha that which pacifies worldly torments like a huge forest fire. Which destroys everything
श्रेयः-कैरव-चन्द्रिका-वितरणम् tatpurusha that which distributes moonlight for blooming fortune that is waterlilly
विद्या-वधू-जीवनम् tatpurusha that which gives a life to knowledge like a husband to his wife
आनन्दाम्बुधि-वर्धनम् tatpurusha that which nourishes like an ocean
प्रति-पदम् Avyayibhava every word being
पूर्णामृतास्वादनम् tatpurusha tasting real nectar (amruta)
सर्वात्म-स्नपनम् tatpurusha bathes every souls
Every soul has seed of Bhakti. Hymns of god is like watering that seed
Initially it was told that worldly torments are like fire. God's prayers are bathing to release that heat. The importance goes to the word sarva. All people, irrespective of their cast and creed.

अनुवाद: हे गोविन्द ! आपके विरह में मुझे एक क्षण भी एक युग के बराबर प्रतीत हो रहा है । नेत्रों से मूसलाधार वर्षा के समान निरंतर अश्रु-प्रवाह हो रहा है तथा समस्त जगत एक शून्य के समान दिख रहा है ॥७
