3. Keyword modifiers help you find results more closely related to
the types of prospects you need to find.
Insert keywords into the search field at the top of
any page on LinkedIn or use the Keywords field that appears
in the Advanced search panel (fig. 1).
You can also build search strings in the Keywords, Title,
Name, and Company fields in Advanced People Search. The
modifiers you can include are AND, OR, and NOT, quotes, and
parentheses
Quick Tip
Don’t underestimate the power of NOT. Probably the least
used and least understood modifier is NOT. A huge part of
what you ARE looking for is what you are NOT looking for.
NOT helps you pare down your search results by excluding
those you know are not qualified or would not necessarily be
interested in your product or service.

4. Keyword modifiers help you find results more closely related to
the types of prospects you need to find.
1 Keyword Modifiers
If you would like to
search for profiles
which include two
terms (for
example: manager
AND director) you can
separate those terms
with the upper-case
word AND.
If you would like to
search for profiles
which include just
one of two or more
terms (for
example: CEO OR
President) you can
separate those terms
with the upper-case
word OR.
If you would like to
search for an exact
phrase, you can
enclose the phrase in
quotation marks (for
example: “product
manager”).
If you would like to do
a search but exclude a
particular term, type
that term with a NOT
immediately before it
(for example: -NOT
computer). Your
search results will
exclude any profile
containing that term.
If you would like to
do a complex search
(for instance, finding
vice presidents or
directors of divisions)
you can combine
terms like this: VP OR
(director AND
division).
