1. What made you decide to quit the Powders?
I felt like I needed to go my own way more and do my own things I had so many idea’s and thoughts of what I could be doing, but of course
there is five of us in the band it cant always just be about me and my ideas, so I thought I would take the risk and quite.
Why did you choose this look for your re-branding?
Well I just wanted to tone down more and start fresh, am started to feel a bit more normal again [laughs], and I really do love my new look,
don’t you? [laughs]
Are you maintaining friendly relationship with the rest of the band?
Oh yes of course, I would be devastated if we were to fall out, we are still close friends, like most bands if someone doped out and was
successful the rest of the band would normally make shitty comments for example am sorry but Girls aloud, the rest of the girls were hardly
supportive to Cheryl Cole. We see each other all the time like they will come to the studio with me to help and all things like that. Am just a
very lucky women to have such amazing supporting friends like them.
Did you ever think you would be this successful on your own.
NO WAY! But of course I thought I was going to be a little successful, or I wouldn’t of took the risk but this is just crazy and its just all
happening so quickly and am loving every minute. My success is totally down to my loyal fans, I LOVE YOU!
Who's your biggest musical influence?
Haley Williams. She came out, and she was just so strong and so independent and wrote all her own songs. That meant so much to me,
even as a 10-year-old. Just knowing that the stories she was telling in those songs those were her stories.
I grew up listening to R&B, yet I find your songs really catchy. What sort of music do you listen to?
[laughs] Well I love all type of music I even like R&B myself but I grew up listening to heavy metal as my older bothers always played it and
they would do little pub gigs on weekends which I would go to.
What advice do you have for aspiring songwriters?
Write your songs not for a demographic or for getting on the radio. Write your songs for the person you're writing that song about. When I sit
down, I say to myself, "O.K., who is this about? What would I say to him right now if I could?“
What other artists would you like to do a duet with?
Believe it or not very unexpected I bet, but Tinie Tempah he’s such a talented man the way he plays around with words its just incredible! I
actually wrote him the song ‘pass out’ which was number one for such a long time he did such a good job of that song. Example is another
amazing artist which I would love to do a collab with.
And finally what are you future ideas and goals?
Ah secret! [laughs] I am still full of ideas and I have many goals, but at the moment am thankful for everything what is happening right now,
so just take one step at a time. I am loving life! [laughs]
