· Gained 5 GWO’s for staying safe in the wind industry on and offshore. I have gained
experience with fitting working harnesses correctly, work position and fall arrest
lanyards, vertical fall arrest systems such as cabloc and inertia rail systems, techniques
and skills for climbing such as double hooking, emergency escapes using the Millan
system, emergency rescue training, working at height, working in a confined space at
both ground level and at height, use of gas detection equipment, emergency escape
breathing equipment, sea survival including boat transfers, fire awareness, major and
minor cabling, basic hydraulic systems within the turbine, VHF Communications
Training, Haulage Systems Training, bolt torque and tensioning training, first aid at
work, use of emergency defibrillators, rescues from a man down suspended at height
and in a confined space and manual handling.
August 2014-May
2015
· Began additional training to improve my own learning and to increase employment
opportunities for a more satisfying place of work. I gained knowledge, experience and
certification with manual handling and how to use the correct lifting aids accordingly,

2006-August 2014 Draeger Safety, Electrician
Started Draeger as an apprentice electrician gaining most of my hands on
technical knowledge as I carried out various roles. Early on I worked as a
maintenance electrician carrying out routine preventative maintenance on
various CNC machines and other machinery including auto fretage and carbon
and glass fiber winding machines. Adjusting, installing and maintaining high
and low pressure systems from 7.5 bar to 350bar pressures.
Due to business progression I changed roles in 2007 and became an
installations electrician within the estates and facilities team. From this I
gaining a greater knowledge and experience with installations of single phase
and 3 phase electrical systems including power and lighting circuits. I worked
greatly with customers within the business to carry out all work request
efficiently and effectively to their timescales to a high level of health and
safety. Fault finding equipment and appliances to adapt and overcome power
failures or mechanical or electrical defects.
Sole responsibility of the electrical maintenance and installations of 9 sites
across the UK and Ireland. It was my responsibility to manage contracts and
plan and oversee regular maintenance or additional works that was required
by customers.
Planned preventative maintenance of electrical systems throughout the
business including portable appliance testing and emergency lighting testing.
I gained certification and experience working with scaffold towers and most of
works carried out were at height either above or below ground levels, either in
a team or lone working.
Gained IOSH managing safety as the business had a desire for me to be able to
write my own risk assessments but also to write risk assessments and permit
to works for external contractors.
Gained additional on hands experience with small joinery works, small
plumbing works, and general site duties.
During my employment I gained certification in the following internal industry
training: Asbestos awareness, Training with Absorbent and spill kit use,
Swagelok Installation, Legionella Awareness, BEST training (business excellence
system), Process Mapping, 5S, Drawings (machine shop) training, Critical
