Nate Davis wants to work full time in the performing arts industry. He is building his personal brand in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in theatre, film, and television before expanding to other regions. His skills include acting, business management, and personnel management from 8 years of retail experience. His ultimate goal is to open his own multi-medium production studio producing original content strongly influenced by his brand. He is currently acting full time, increasing his audition odds through agents, subscriptions, and networking. He treats building his brand and portfolio like a full-time job through auditioning, evolving, and tweaking his performance based on projects.
2. I want to work full time in the Performing Arts Industry, making an impression on the Theatre, Film, and Television sectors.
My active focus is building my brand here in DFW within the aforementioned sectors, that way I will have plenty of advocates,
work, and a following before I begin to expand to other regions.

3. Identity
If you want someone to bring life to the party, I’m great for that
but only because I know how to naturally relate to people. I am
that funny, charming guy but I don’t rely on that for my
future…how much you put in measures your reward.
I am a creator. I am full of ideas and possibilities that I actively
look for ways to produce. I am a person who loves to observe, it
helps me to understand life. I want to use my gifts, talents, and
my work in my chosen industry to show as many as possible
what humanity is missing.
If you aren’t contributing to the future of the human race in anyway, that's
more power we don’t have to facilitate healthy change with understanding.

4. Skills
Film Acting
Theatre Acting
Commercial Acting
Business Management
Business
Administration
Personell Management
I have work for 8 years in
The Retail Industry learning Business Principles, Management, and
Administration. I am now applying what I know about business to my own
personal brand. I am my brand so it is important to me to invest in myself.
I quit my job and the retail industry January 5, 2019 and I have been solely
focused on myself and my acting career. That includes a new video
series(branding) photo shoots(branding) market research, and the type of
projects I want to be seen in. I am doing what I have to in order to do what I
want.
My Ultimate goal is to open my own multi-medium production studio/firm
where we produce all original content strongly influenced by my brand that is
recognized as a new style of media production. I understand that there are
specific skills, knowledge and resources in order to realize this goal.
For example: Netflix holds a position called the Business Operations Manager,
Globalization. According to the Netflix Jobs Site this positions responsibilities
are to
• Create an optimized business operations framework against
which the Globalization team can perform and support
translation at scale.
• Evaluate business performance, anticipate risks and uncover
opportunities for efficiency.
• Partner with Science & Analytics to create advanced metrics on
Globalization data to integrate with greater Netflix operational
performance metrics.
• Define and establish KPIs to measure Globalization success
and manage ongoing operational performance on cost, quality,
delivery and continuity of support.
• Develop and maintain effective communication tools to report
business performance and drive business decisions both
internally (vendor QBRs and newsletters) and externally
(executive reports and dashboards) for Globalization.
• Track and maintain data integrity across multiple tools and
workflows, and identify and resolve data inconsistencies.
Netflix and Hulu are leading producers of original content. I want my
business to be recognized as these are by creating identity through the content.
5. Profession
• Theatre
• Film
• Commercial
I am currently acting full time. It’s tough to tell what I am doing differently than others however I know that what I am doing is working.
I am increasing my audition odds by adding as many resources at my disposal as possible. I currently have an agent, and a
subscription to Backstage. Not to mention the network I have developed so far though short film projects. I have made myself
completely available for all auditions that could possibly come my way and I constantly search for auditions to have at least 5 a week. I
am sure to get at least 1 out of 5.
I am always evolving my brand and portfolio. When people look at my digital self, I need to be sure what I’m doing is immediately
captivating. Once my digital self is sent to casting directors I need them to consider me. If they consider me, that means I just received
notice for an audition.
I am always studying the nature of the projects that I am selected for, that way I have a model for my audition. I want to fit in
with what they have done in the past because all commercials have a certain identity they are portraying for the company to the
Audience. If I don’t get booked I then go back and figure out why I didn’t get selected and I make changes to my performance based
on the project.
I truly believe that working in a field that you love you find yourself always doing something related to that. I work
hard to ensure that my image is clear, and flawless as it relates to who I am and my brand. I treat this like it is the
full-time job I used to have. When I am not acting, I’m auditioning, when I’m not auditioning, I’m evolving to get
more consideration. Through all that, I am tweaking and building on my performance based on the project.
6. Your credentials are like your resume. If you can name drop some influential figures that you’ve worked with based on
your industry, you probably will get the position you need.
In my case, I have worked with known casting directors in Dfw, and have been among the chosen talent for some pretty
big projects and commercials like Zaxby’s or currently in contact with Chad Moore for a project that I can’t mention, but
being able to work your way to a certain level of work allows you to automatically be credible for the same level of work
and greater. I am still building my credentials but what I have so far is really starting to propel me in a good direction.
After that, you just need to be sure that you are a reliable person. They won’t give the job to the one who they can’t trust.
Credentials
7. Promise
I have confidence in my abilities and skills that I can more
than satisfy, my employer, clients, or customers.
I will always bring a good attitude to what I do and will
always be open to coaching and coaching up as well.
My creativity will be at the disposal of my employer and
clients, and customers will reap the reward of a good
finished product or service.
In order for me to asses what’s missing in the marketplace,
I feel I need to be deeper involved within the industry, with
some more “behind the scenes” information.
I will say I believe the industry is missing Nate Davis
on its roster of young, African American A list
actors. I feel that not only would my acting skill set
translate across multiple genres, I also feel that who I am,
my values, my core goals for this world will add a new role
model for those that love to keep up with the latest on their
favorite actors. Parents wouldn’t mind letting their children
watch a show produced by Nate Davis because of what he
stands for and the persona he chooses to create which is
honest and positively impressionable.
8. Positioning
Why should you hire me?
I realize there are a lot of actors out there, that have a similar look, or voice, or height as me, a lot of
which are probably looking for auditions that I want.
I however have a particular set of attributes and skills that would help you sell me to America’s
performing arts audiences.
1. Chameleon actor- putting an actor into a broad scope of roles will show versatility and will produce
great ratings and anticipation for any new project that actor will be a part of.
2. I can cross between film and theatre acting, ultimately contributing to keeping millennials
interested in theatre. “In fact, the most likely age group to say they will attend the theatre is 16- to 19-
year-olds, with 45- to 54-year-olds the least likely to attend”(Brown, 2013).
3. I am likable by everyone. You can’t find another human being that knows me on this earth that does
not like Nate Davis. That only contributes to good publicity, marketing, and Pr.
4. Not only am I wanting to become an A list actor, I also have a number of ventures I am actively
working on, Music recording business, Multi-media production studio/firm, and a web series that focuses
on awareness in comedic light. This will only put icing on the cake showing that one of their favorite
actor’s are involved more closely with the people.
You add all this to an actor, you will have an Impressionable public figure that people can
look up to and follow and be positively influenced by and also stay entertained!
9. Audience
Who is it?
As an actor, I need to appeal not only to the audience, I need to make it past the
gate keepers first.
There are Casting Directors, Directors, Producers, and of course, the
viewers that I need to appeal to. Their decisions are based on what the client
or a lot of times the people want. Sometimes you just may not be what someone
is looking for at that specific time. This business also thrives on trends.
Those that make casting decisions are most likely attending some type of
networking event that puts them in contact with another business partner, or
investor. When they are not at work, they are probably doing something related
to the industry we work in. Other times we are involved in other side gigs or
projects that aren’t as demanding. The entertainment industry is full of people
that love what they do. If I were not acting at the present moment, I would
probably be watching the latest movie or theatre show, or writing the script to
my next web series episode.
10. Networking and Marketing
I am actively working on building my personal brand, and my
presence online. As I have done more searching, I found a lot of
reviews on past shows I was in and my social profiles are there as well
so now I am going to be sure to have all these elements centralized to
my digital portfolio.
I also am launching a web series within the next two months that will
show who I am and what I am about. It will also be entertaining for
those that are watching.
My social media platforms will also promote the web series,
providing quick links to episodes and to my digital portfolio.
My digital portfolio is going to be a big look at my life and my work.
There are multiple groups that I am a part of that are great for
networking, tech groups, filmmaking groups, business professional
groups. I am going to begin to attend one a week to expand my
network and also see if there’s any late news that I have missed out
on. These are perfect areas of networking for an actor. Business, I
can meet marketing professionals that can put me in the direction of
their casting directors. Tech groups, same or doing live
demonstrations which depending on my following will look a lot like
a public figure’s support. Filmmaking for meeting directors, casting
directors, fellow actors and actresses to discuss upcoming projects or
auditions and name drop a little to get some good leads to our next
big thing.
11. Competitors
Naturally I have realized that my biggest competition are those that
look like me.
When I go on auditions, I see a lot of African American males. This is
where my positioning comes in. I know that there are people that
want to be in the next black panther movie or possibly be static shock in
the live action version once DC works on it. This is why I have to
consider all possible attributes that I lack and improve what I physically
can.
Physique-curb appeal
Face-good complexion, minimal scars
Hair-universal
Voice-loud and full
All these attributes point to being marketable. At the end of the decision
it boils down to…is this guy marketable?
The more marketable I am, I can increase my odds of getting
booked.
Kevin Nichols on linkden is a SAG - AFTRA affiliated Actor
based in North Hollywood, California. He is considered my
competitor because he is a SAG actor and I’m actually
working on that eligibility.
12. Things I need work on is strengthening my online presence and translating my brand through my digital self.
I am going to reach out to actors that I feel are on a higher level than me and ask them what marketing strategies
worked for them.
I also plan to get in touch with a talent manager to also gain knowledge on what I need for marketing myself to
the best of my ability.
Professional Development
13. I want to be known online for what I do in life. I am always finding ways to improve and build my brand.
From capitalizing on my advocates, to obtaining new followers from an instagram post my job as a new
full time actor is to build my online presence.
I am looking to double all of my social media platform followers by the fall.
I am going to do this by staying consistent with posting related to my brand, and also by using my web
series, connecting all the social media mediums to Nate Davis.
