Funding levels for key environmental programs
The Continuing Resolution includes devastating cuts to many environmental programs including:

$1.6 billion from the Environmental Protection Agency
$4.7 billion from Forest Service Operations
$140 million from National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration
More than $500 million cut from the Army Corps

These cuts, which will limit the government’s ability to protect and restore ecosystems and wildlife,
are described in more detail below; however, some program specific cuts won’t be known until
        relevant agencies make budget determinations.

EXPLANATORY NOTES REGARDING FY 11 Funding Levels
As of publication, the FY11 CR has not been passed or signed into law.

The FY 11 CR does not have report language; therefore, many programs will be funded either by agency
determination or at FY10 levels. For these programs, we have listed the funding level as TBD.

*Programs (identified by italics in the Climate and Energy Programs section on page 1) administered by the
Department of Energy office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy have been severely cut. While we
can’t determine the cut to each individual program yet, the entire office budget has been cut by $440 million.

This chart does not identify all programs that have been cut by riders. One such rider eliminates the NOAA
National Climate Service, a climate science program designed to provide scientific assistance to farmers,
fishery managers, water managers and transportation managers.

For these programs, we have listed the funding level as TBD. *Programs (identified by italics in the Climate and Energy Programs section on page 1) administered by the Department of Energy office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy have been severely cut. While we can’t determine the cut to each individual program yet, the entire office budget has been cut by $440 million. This chart does not identify all programs that have been cut by riders. One such rider eliminates the NOAA National Climate Service, a climate science program designed to provide scientific assistance to farmers, fishery managers, water managers and transportation managers.
