INSTAGRAM
 It began development in San Francisco as Burbn, a
mobile check-in app created by Kevin Systrom and
Mike Krieger on Oct 6 2010.
 In April 2012, Zuckerberg (the founder of Facebook)
made an offer to purchase Instagram for $1 billion in
cash and stock, with the provision that the company
would remain independently managed.
 Present CEO is Adam Mosseri was the Head of
Instagram where he oversees all functions of the
business including engineering, product and
operations.
Objective of Instagram
 Instagram is to grab your attention and keep you hooked. Then it can market to
you by showing you ads that other accounts have paid for.
 It also collects information about you which is absolutely invaluable.
 Instagram allows you to take ordinary photos and make them look extraordinary;
this can be compelling.
 People don’t want to read long texts, so they are more interested in watching
videos and pictures, and this is the baseline of Instagram.
 It’s simple and easy to use and free!
 It focused on doing one thing instead of trying to do too many things.
 It has a lot of fun features and updating by the daily needs of users.

 Instagram had the fourth highest market share in India's social media market with around 3.27
percent as of December 2020.
 Instagram had the market share in worldwide social media market with around 2.25 percent as of
December 2020.
 Every minute on the Internet 2020 Instagram users post 347,222 stories.
 According to SEMrush the Ranking of world most visited websites Instagram is at sixth position
with 5.2B total visits in which 1.2B are unique visits with time per visit is 16M 49S and 6.10 pages
per visit .
 1.16B people can be reached with adverts on Instagram
 In Quarter-on-Quarter change in Instagram’s advertising reach more than 76% million people.
Do we make money by Instagram
 Instagram doesn’t pays creators like YouTube but
that doesn’t means that you can’t make money
from Instagram.

 Sell your own products or services.
 You can do affiliate marketing
 Sell promotions and shoutouts
DATA ANALYSIS
 Here the data is analyzed by taking survey from
the students and some of the people due to
pandemic situation.
 Sample size of 30. Out of which only 29 are
responsive.
Research Analysis:
From the following surveyed information,
we came with the results
 Out of 29 responses 12 are males and 17 are
females.
 With the age between 20-27 are 25 responses
,16-20 are 3 responses and one response from
28-38 age.
Out of 29 responses 16 people
consider themselves as active user
and rest 13 are not.
In a single day time spent as 21 people less
than 3 hours ,5 spent 3-6 hrs, 1spent 6-12
hrs and 2 spent more than 12hrs..
Out of 29 responses 16 people
using the Instagram more than 6
months ago and 13 people are
using less than 6 months ago.
Out of 29 responses people post on
Instagram are 51.7% rarely,17.2%
never,13.8% everyday and 10.3%
couple of times.
Purpose to post in Instagram for
personal is 51.7%, Fun is 44.8% and
3.4% for business
Out of 28 responses 22 do not sell or
advertise anything and 3 people do daily and
another 3 rarely
Most used feature on Instagram is saving specific
posts as a collection with 58.6% and receive
notifications from favourite celebrity with 51.7%.
Post do you like or share most in which 69% gave for Funny and memes,65.5% for Interesting places
and events ,48.3% for people and celebrities ,27.6% for Food ,pets ,Fashion advices and 20.7% for
Makeup Tutorials.
Findings
 According to this survey major responses are with the age group 20-27 the findings are consider only based
on their response.
 Mostly at present people prefer
 Many people are consider as active users and spent less than 3 hrs of time daily on Instagram .
 People using Instagram are increasing gradually.
 Maximum no of posts posted are related to personal ,fun and often maximum posts rarely ,never but some
do daily, couple of times in a month.
 Most used feature on Instagram is saving specific posts as a collection with 58.6% and receive notifications
from favourite celebrity.
 Best thing generally for people on Instagram are Collecting Memes , post ,Business Information ,scrolling
news and reels ,challenging friends ,Uploading pics and videos.
 It doesn’t contain too many frustrating ads; nothing pops up!

HISTORY OF INSTAGRAM  It began development in San Francisco as Burbn, a mobile check-in app created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger on Oct 6 2010.  In April 2012, Zuckerberg (the founder of Facebook) made an offer to purchase Instagram for $1 billion in cash and stock, with the provision that the company would remain independently managed.  Present CEO is Adam Mosseri was the Head of Instagram where he oversees all functions of the business including engineering, product and operations.

  • 7. DATA ANALYSIS  Here the data is analyzed by taking survey from the students and some of the people due to pandemic situation.  Sample size of 30. Out of which only 29 are responsive. Research Analysis: From the following surveyed information, we came with the results  Out of 29 responses 12 are males and 17 are females.  With the age between 20-27 are 25 responses ,16-20 are 3 responses and one response from 28-38 age.
  • 8. Out of 29 responses 16 people consider themselves as active user and rest 13 are not. In a single day time spent as 21 people less than 3 hours ,5 spent 3-6 hrs, 1spent 6-12 hrs and 2 spent more than 12hrs.. Out of 29 responses 16 people using the Instagram more than 6 months ago and 13 people are using less than 6 months ago.
  • 9. Out of 29 responses people post on Instagram are 51.7% rarely,17.2% never,13.8% everyday and 10.3% couple of times. Purpose to post in Instagram for personal is 51.7%, Fun is 44.8% and 3.4% for business

Findings  According to this survey major responses are with the age group 20-27 the findings are consider only based on their response.  Mostly at present people prefer  Many people are consider as active users and spent less than 3 hrs of time daily on Instagram .  People using Instagram are increasing gradually.  Maximum no of posts posted are related to personal ,fun and often maximum posts rarely ,never but some do daily, couple of times in a month.  Most used feature on Instagram is saving specific posts as a collection with 58.6% and receive notifications from favourite celebrity.  Best thing generally for people on Instagram are Collecting Memes , post ,Business Information ,scrolling news and reels ,challenging friends ,Uploading pics and videos.  It doesn’t contain too many frustrating ads; nothing pops up!
