2. THE ANALOGY
• There is but ONE GOD, and He has shown His
willingness to commune with people since Adam
• The Old Testament is important as it is a type or
shadow of what GOD would do through Jesus Christ
and His church
• A quick study of the temple and the priesthood gives
the church a needed reminder of God's agenda and
purpose on the Earth

3. SCRIPTURAL ANALOGIES
ABOUT THE TEMPLE AND THE
CHURCH
• Psalm 127:1 - God builds the House
• 1 Cor. 3:9 - 17 - We are God's building
• Eph. 2: 18 - 22 - The Holy Temple
• Heb. 3: 1 - 6 - Christ supercedes Moses (as a
builder)
• Rev. 1: 5 - 6 - We are now Kings and Priests

4. EVERY BUILDING HAS A FOUNDATION
- JESUS CHRIST IS OURS
• Isa. 28:16 - Christ a 'tested' cornerstone
• 1 Cor. 2: 1 - 7 - Christ is the 'Wisdom' of the
building, it's foundation.
• Eph. 2: 19 - 22 - Christ the Chief Cornerstone.

5. ONE FOUNDATION:
'JESUS CHRIST THE LORD'
• JESUS is: God Incarnate, Divine Nature
• JESUS' Foundation: Doctrine, Life, Death,
Resurrection, Lordship, Redemptive Power In His
Blood, His Purpose, His (Disciples) Apostles, The
Church
• If you change the foundation you modify the whole
building
• The church must align itself with Him or risk becoming
something other than what Christ desires.

6. THE WALLS - 'LIVING STONES'
1 PETER 2: 4-10
• The temple was made using natural stones. These
'rocks' had no purpose or form until they were
handpicked and shaped by a master mason (cutter).
• HINT: Cutting something that is living is usually painful.
• 'Living' - Not ancient but alive to Christ (No Relics)
• O.T. - God dwelt among the people - Zech 2:10
• N.T. - God dwells IN the people - 1 John 4:12; Rom. 8: 9-

7. HOLY STONES
• Exo. 20: 24 - 25 - Purity
• No BRICKS (Manmade Mixtures)
• No rubbish - 1 Cor. 3: 12 -13
• A 'habitation' for GOD HIMSELF -
Eph. 2:21-22
• Mt. 5:13-16 - Stones Represent!
• The stones made up the bulk of
what people saw of the temple.

8. THE ROOF

Unattractive) - JESUS'
HUMANITY
• Rams Skins (Dyed RED Blood
of Jesus)
• Inside - Fine Linen - Cherubims,
(Blue and Purple) - Inside the
safety and beauty of Divine
worship

9. THE COVERING OF THE ROOF
• 'A roof over our heads.' A necessity of life
• The Atoning BLOOD OF JESUS!
• Rom. 5: 6 -10 ; Rom. 8: 32 - 34
• People love to talk about God's 'GRACE' but make
sure your life is covered by the BLOOD of JESUS.
• Heb. 10:16 - 22 There is no access to GOD without
the covering of the Precious Blood of JESUS!

11. KINGLY PRIESTS
• Lev. 8:30 - 36
• Sanctification means separated 'from' , 'to', and 'for'
something
• It took seven actions in order to consecrate Aaron, and his
sons. 7 Days of consecration.
• Sanctified 'From' the world - 'To' The Lord and His agenda
• Heb. 10: 9 -12 - JESUS Once and for all sacrifice for all
N.T. priests

12. PRIESTS REPRESENT THE ONE
TRUE GOD TO MANKIND
Deut. 6:13 - 15
God is a Jealous God.
This has not changed

13. PRIESTS MINISTER IN GODS HOUSE,
AND GOD TO THE PEOPLE - MT. 4:10
• Who is GOD? Why should we serve God? What are the
benefits of serving God? What does God want me to do?
• The church are God's messengers to the world to show His
power, love, law, and compassion for mankind
• John 17:15- 24 We have to be separate and yet accessible
• 2 Cor. 5: 19 - 20 - Ministry of reconciliation
• Abraham, Moses, Aaron represented God so should we
