12. Skill Based Mobilization
Skill based search in emergency cases is the most effective way to mobilize personal resources
depending on the needs.
A group of persons gets called at the same time. Confirmation makes sure that the requested number of
persons will respond. Confirmation can also be used to communicate estimated arrival time.

13. Emergency Conferencing
The most effective way to discuss and arrange further approach in case of an emergency (for
example Code Yellow, Code Red, Code Brown, etc) is to join the related persons together into a
conference. This can be done from any phone for e.g. Group 5:
- Dial 1051 for immediate Emergency Conference (EC)
- Dial 1052 for EC with Pre-Announcement
- Dial 1053 for EC with dynamic Announcement
- Dial 1054 for EC no confirmation required.

Evacuation Alarm
It is vital to inform the evacuation helpers first. They
need to be placed on strategic places to
guide the evacuation, take care of predefined
scenarios and avoid panic.
To start this procedure an authentication of the
security manager with ID and password is required.

I will now show you a few examples that you will find in a hospital.
This situation requires a number of people to respond. In this example, a Surgeon, Doctor and 3 Nurses are required.
Mobicall will call a group of Surgeons and the first to acknowledge accepts the call. The others will either be told not to respond or the handsets will stop ringing. This process is the same for the Doctors and Nurses.

Quicker and effective decision making in time critical situations

MANAGEMENT:
Messaging server takes call
Messaging server records message
Messaging server calls the Management Group on DECT / Extensions
DELIVERY:
Messaging server guarantees delivery of voice message.
Voice message played as each caller picks up.
After voice message, callers are automatically conferenced together.
RESPONSE:
Messaging server enables collaboration as management team discuss response within seconds of initial 888 call.
New messaging server escalation process can be started via predefine business rules.
I will now show you a few examples to manage emergency situations that occur off the hospital campus.
Ambulance scenario – A paramedic calls into Mobicall, leaves a message relating to all the injuries and holds. Mobicall, calls the emergency departments across the hospitals within that District, plays the message to the person answering and then places them into a conference for all to discuss the appropriate action.
Doctor requires to contact all within a group. They call Mobicall, leave the details and hold. Mobicall calls everyone within the group, first on the DECT, if unsuccessful, tries a mobile etc until successful. All participants hear the message and then get placed into a conference.
In this example, a fire alarm has been triggered.
The fire wardens are conferenced in allowing them to communicate while they investigate the fire. This allows them to confirm their locations and the areas investigated – taking away the normal chaos from people running around aimlessly.
Line Supervision
Basic supervision of PBX network consists in checking the connection between the Mobicall system and the PBX. If any element of the communication chain is down, an alarm can be started. This alarm will of course need to use an available media.
This feature, known as line supervision consists in two functionalities:
- Check layer 1 of each PRA connection
- Implement a line check by a loop call (routed in the PABX to test as many important elements in the voice network as required).
This feature is included in the software without any options and should be configured for every installation, since providing the basic level of information, should the system have a problem with PBX connection. Since most of the alarm scenario depend on voice or messaging to DECT, it is highly important to send this type of information so the system can be set back on line as soon as possible.
Line supervision can also be used as a watchdog concept for all Mobicall servers within a network. The servers call each other in predefined intervals. If a call is not received, an alarm is launched informing the responsible person of a possible problem with the Mobicall server which failed to make the call, or the voice network.
