The Highsteppers Drill Team
Founded by Kelli Harmon and Joenita Alexander, THDT is a
non-profit award winning, positive, youth competition & show
dance organization originated right here in Cincinnati in July
1999. This year the Highsteppers are upon celebrating their
13th year anniversary! THDT uses the art of dance and drill as
unique tools to instill necessary life skills in young ladies as
they mature into young women. Working with young ladies
between the ages of 10–23 years, all THDT rules, activities,
and events are designed to promote leadership, self-esteem,
confidence, dignity, and positive interpersonal skills, while Member Spotlights
stressing the importance of academic excellence, where this
