Understand Benefits Of Electronic Health Records Wp091005
CHI Brochure v1.2
1. What is CHI?
CHI is an innovative computer tablet based application
used by hospital acute care medical teams to record and
display patient clinical data.
It speeds up the capture of patient data, reduces
paperwork and streamlines clinical workflow.
CHI has its own an electronic health record (EHR) or can
integrate with existing EHR systems to provide a highly
functional clinical “front end”.
Why use CHI?
Medical professionals can spend more time in direct patient care
Increased number of patients can be treated through better use of staff time
Reduced clinical risk and increased patient safety through better control of data
Ability to demonstrate compliance to governance rules
Capture of workflow data enables continual process improvement and reduction in risk
Freedom from the silo effects and large cost bases of existing PAS/EHR technologies
Better interoperability with other systems through the use of open standards

2. The openEHR advantage
CHI has been developed using openEHR, an open
standard advocated by the NHS for the storage and
exchange of clinical information which helps to meet
the interoperability aims of the NHS five-year plan. CHI
has multiple deployment options and can integrate
with existing electronic health records (EHRs) or
alternatively can be supplied with its own highly
scalable EHR.
Designed “on the ground”
with clinicians
CHI was built with funding from the
Welsh government with an aim of
enabling clinicians to spend substantially
more time with patients in direct value
added care.
Llogic is passionate about great user
experience and we believe that
technology should never be a hindrance
to front line staff. CHI has been
developed using an "Agile"
methodology in close co-operation with
clinical staff, delivering an application
that is closely aligned with clinical
workflow, has a low training burden and
is a joy to use.
