Goal Assignment
1. From having ramen noodles mixed with a package of frozen peas that were still
lukewarm when eaten to having a variety of vegetable and fruit arrangements at my 9th
birthday party, my parents had always been emphasizing a healthy eating lifestyle. Little
did I know that these silent gestures have had an influence and slowly steered my route
into becoming a dietitian. Having a mother who is passionate about her gardening and
being able to grow bundles of various vegetables each year since I was little was ordinary
and often times taken for granted when providing a vegetable as part of a main or side dish
at the dinner table. Growing up eating healthy and nutritious meals has made me
appreciate and want to expand my knowledge of food and nutrition.
2. My work values include: efficiency, adaptability, honesty, self-motivated, independent,
ambition, reliable, and patience. While these traits aren’t all of my work values, my main
priority in any given job is to help an institution grow further as a company and help myself
expand my knowledge of learning and continue progressing as an individual.
3. My priorities in life are: my family, my health, my relationships, line of work, and
recreation. My family comes first because they have shaped me into who and where I am
today. They have supported me through every hop, skip and jump that came with each
obstacle in my life. My health, whether it is mental, physical, emotional, or social, ranks
near the top of my priorities in life. From keeping your body and heart healthy with regular
exercise to laughing until you’re wheezing for some air with your best friend, keeping in
touch with each kind of health is valuable. Relationships, regardless of personal or work,
hold a certain importance because they help outline your next path to take. My line of work
is another priority because it’s what you do on a daily basis and always continues to help
you succeed more as a person. Recreation, either active or passive can be a stress reliever
and always is guaranteed to lighten my mood.
4. My personality is a mixture of caring, kindness, willing to try new things, hard working,
and trustworthy.
5. My strengths would be being creative at thinking of new ideas, focusing on the job at
task, and being responsible at getting things done on time. I prioritize my assignments and
my main focus is getting the task done as efficiently as possible. Some of my weaknesses
are procrastinating, sometimes being too literal, and not having a proper balance of school
and socializing. I get too caught up in schoolwork and sometimes feel guilty if I don’t do a
slight bit of homework every night even though may be a need not to. I have gotten better
at prioritizing and putting attention to different assignments early on the due date process.
2. 6. Professionally, I see myself finishing up the first month of my dietetic internship.
Personally, I see myself being happy at doing what I love. I will expand my knowledge and
apply that in all aspects of my life. I will connect with others and share common interests
and hobbies along the way.
7. If all goes well in the next five years, I will have a solid job in the dietetic/nutrition field.
This may be a dietitian or a job that is closely related to the nutrition atmosphere.
Regardless, I will have a job doing what I am passionate about.
8. If things don’t go as planned in the next 5 years, I will most likely still apply my skills that
I learned in the dietetic field to still be active in nutrition and still have the mindset of
pursuing my certification as a Registered Dietitian.
9. My perfect job would be living on the East Coast working at a sports-related field or
fitness center as a Dietitian as I love being active and living a healthy lifestyle. I would also
like to get my personal training certificate and this allows a client reassurance that they
have all of the right tools to change their lifestyle healthily and happily.
