Art = કલા Art encourages self expression and
creativity and can build confidence as
well as a sense of individual identity.
Art provides a means to express the
imagination in nongramatic ways. We
need art because it makes us complete
human beings. We need art to have a
full range of expression. We need art to
keep us healthy. We need art to
understand and to share our individual
and shared history. We need art to keep
us connected.

5. The new mental form of reality which the artist imagines in his mind, he intends to present to us in
the form of artwork through his own medium. In other words, the impression that this real-world
artist has on the picture is what the artist intends to express through art. Art is a way to
give happiness to ourselves, not just enjoyment. Whenever we are involved with any kind of Art,
like Music, dancing, drawing, drama -Acting eat., we feel a different kind of energy, positivity and
happiness. Art is very important. In Gujarati there is proverbs like
"કલા વગરનો માણસ પશુ સમાન છે. "
It is true that each person has a different kind of art. But it is also important to practice that
art to polish the work. That way one can be a best Artist. Art is important because it is
related to meditation. One has to focus and be careful while practicing any art. Singing and
dancing both are related to it. During singing Pranayam is automatically done by the artist.
While dancing , many exercises are done by dancers. The same also happened in Acting
and drama.

6. In our Department
we organized many activities for Art and creativity. We organized this kind of activity with the aim
to increase the enthusiasm and to encourage them. so that students get the chance to perform and
become confident and without fear they can perform. This way they get a chance to show their
talent.
Every situation gives us new opportunities to learn something new and in that we are very lucky to
be the students of the Department of English, the place where each and every student gets a chance
to explore their thoughts and shine themselves.This year Corona Pandemic gave us a chance to learn
many things in the field of technology. Every year students get chance to participate in many events
physically but this time we had lost this opportunity because of Corona Pandemic and less time
during semester but as Dilip Barad sir always says that, “ The show must go on” students came up
with new ideas to celebrate “ Virtual Literary Festival” for three days on 25th, 26th and 27th
December 2020 in which students had participated in various events. The events had been divided
into two parts. Live performances which had been live on facebook and YouTube and others were
exhibition entries which were open for votes.
