1. Work flow for Adoboe Primere Element 9
New project/ existing project:
1. When launching the software, a panel will pop up automatically.
2. Click “New Project” for opening a clear task panel.
3. Type the name of the project and save it.*
4. When the task panel appears, click the “Organize” on the up right corner to
import videos from the computer/ hard disk/ camera.

5. Once imported those videos, you could find them in the “PROJECT” button and
drag them into the timeline.
6. There are timeline and scene line, both of them has different purpose during
2. editing.
7. When dragging the video to timeline, premiere will ask if you want to
auto-analyze it. Do it, no harm for that.
8. In timeline, you can chop off the video into several parts by pressing the button
“ ” just right up the timeline.

9. When you divided the video into several clips, click the button “sceneline” and
you will see the part that you chopped off into different squares. (see the above
diagram)
10. In sceneline, you could add effects, subtitles…to the parts that you would like.
3. 11. For adding effects, click the button (effects) on the up right corner, and it will
appear different kind of effects. Drag it on the video and it will automatically
show up the effects.
How do cut out the audio sound?
Usually, the video and the audio are linked together. To eliminate the audio,
select the whole clip (video and audio), right click, and press “Unlink Audio and
Video”. Again, select the audio that you want to cut off, you can either deleting it by
simply pressing delete or right click, uncheck the “ENABLE” button.
How to add narration?
To add an audio/ narration to element 9, press the button “” on the left
side( beside the sceneline). There are multiple options. Click the “Add Narration” and
a new window pops up. Check if the external mic is connected to the computer. Go
back to timeline, and click on the place where you want to start recording. Press the
record button on the “add narration panel”. When finish recording, press the “stop”
button.
How to add audio file?
Go to “organize”, “files and folders”, find the audio files you want to use for the
video, click it and drag it to the audio line.
How to add subtitle?
Change to “sceneline” mode, and assume you have already divided the video
clip into several parts, on each part, click the button beside trim, which has a big “T”,
4. click it and the panel will show the basic equipments for adding subtitles. On the
screen……..
How to chop off part of the video?
As have mentioned above, after dividing (trim) the video into several parts,
users can work on the specific part, also, they can delete it.
