reporting
4. Highlights from the Inventory
• Select examples of impact measurement in the literature
• Variety of impacts (economic, social, environmental)
• No comprehensive measurement framework on impacts
• Few data available
• Main focus is on basin management and water services
Step 1
• Inventory of existing
frameworks &
measurements
Step 2
• Link indicators with
SDGs and other
impacts
Step 3
• Develop questions and
hypotheses to link aspects
of water governance to
specific impacts
5. Interactive, co-production session
Not relevant, to be discarded
Very useful, I agree
Could be interesting, but needs some work
1. Feedback on the proposed questions for each of the 12 Principles

Notes de l'éditeur
The next Programme of Work of the WGI for the next three years will aim at strengthening the implementation of the principles, through:
Promoting the use of existing indicators and developing impact indicators that can be used as a voluntary self-assessment tool among interested cities, basins and countries. Impact indicators are essentially about measuring change and to what extent water governance measures are having the intended results for example in relation to SDGs. In other words they are a measure of the extent to which you have achieved your objectives and your longer term goals.
Promoting capacity development and developing modules and activities that can help inspire water governance transformations at different scales (cities, basins, regions, countries). It includes, amongst others, the further use and dissemination of water governance practices as a peer-learning tool that can assist to illustrate what type of capacities that are needed to make progress in particular contexts. Capacity development will target the Principles and existing indicator framework as means for contributing to the achievement of the SDGs. In a simplified way capacity development can be seen as processes through which individuals and organisations obtain, strengthen and sustain capabilities to set and achieve development objectives over time.
