2. RESEARCH
Twitter- I used Twitter to research current hashtag
trends in the film world. Twitter is extremely useful as
it gives you the ability to get involved in
conversations with people you wouldn’t normally get
involved with. For example I used Twitter to get
involved in the conversation about the new Star
Wars: The Last Jedi and American Made
Blogger- Blogger is a free and useful tool that allows
you to upload work to the public domain and
feedback. It is also useful as it allows you to upload
your work in a variety of ways, for example you can
embed a Piktochart, Emaze, Visme and Slideshare
3. RESEARCH
Slideshare- Slideshare is useful as it allows me to
convert a Microsoft presentation into a Slideshare,
which I can then embed onto my Blogger account.
This therefore allows me to vary my presentation
tools. As well as this Slideshare is straightforward
and simple to use and I never had any problems
whilst using it.
Piktochart- Piktochart is a unique way in which I
can present my information. I can present it in a
presentational format or in a infographic.
Infographics always look professional and formal,
which in turn compliments my work and makes it
look more formal.
4. PLANNING
Snapchat- Our group used Snapchat, a messaging app, in order to stay organised
and on the same page. Snapchat was extremely useful throughout the production
process for our coursework and we did not experience any problems with using
the app.
Voice Memos- I used voice memos on my mobile phone to practice the audio for
some of my work. I decided to use this particular method because I could record
it anywhere at anytime and the microphone on my phone has always functioned
and it is of high enough quality
5. PLANNING
Youtube- I used Youtube to compile and
upload audio files onto my Blogger
account. At first I struggled with trying to
find a way in which to convert the format
of the file to mp3, audio, to mp4, video,
but I eventually overcame this minor
setback.
6. CONSTRUCTION
Photoshop- I used Adobe Photoshop to create and
edit my Film Magazine Cover and my Film Poster.
Our green screen scenes involved complex layers
using a plane background from google images
coupled with footage filmed on a plane flying above
London. In another scene we used the background
video of a North Korean test launch news broadcast
and used our own actors to be the news presenters.
This added not only professionalism to our trailer
but it also added to our trailer’s USP.
Digital Camera- We used a Canon Rebel t4i with a
Manfrotto Tripod to film everything in our film trailer
as well as our character ‘hot seating’ interviews
which can be seen here
7. CONSTRUCTION
Voice Memos- I used voice memos on my mobile phone to
record the audio for some of my work. I decided to use this
particular method because I could record it anywhere at
anytime, which I knew would be useful. Then all I needed to do
was upload it to my laptop.
IMovie- We used IMovie to edit our film trailer, we decided to
use this editing software in particular because all of my group
had previous experience using the software. This meant that
we would not encounter setbacks during the editing process
because of inexperience.
In IMovie, I trimmed scenes in order to create a sharper edit as
trailers need fast pace particularly in the running scene, the
reason the trimming for the this scene was extremely
necessary as the
8. CONSTRUCTION
IMovie Filters- In the flashback scene we used filters to
create a distinctive visual quality which would integrate
the backstory and indicate to the audience the different
time period
IMovie- We used a slow-mo effect in the flashback scene
in order to anchor the meaning of the flashback and allow
the audience to absorb the significance of this scene. We
also slowed down the scene in which the three teenagers
are running for their life in order to make their dash more
momentous.
We used the internal microphone to record voiceovers for
our film trailer. The use of this further strengthen the
flashback scene, it also creates sympathy for the three
brothers and how the quality of life has deteriorated since
the missile strike.
9. EVALUATION
Youtube- We used Youtube to collate useful and
constructive comments from our peers. This is also the
same platform we uploaded our trailer to.
Piktochart- I decided to use Piktochart for my
Evaluation question 3. Piktochart is one of the most
useful presentational tools because of its infographic
format which is extremely useful in presenting
information.
Emaze- I decided to use Emaze because I have previous
experience using it as a presentational tool, however to
improve my knowledge of Emaze I decided to use a
different template and format, which in the end turned
out better than I previously expected.
10. EVALUATION
Slideshare- I decided to use Slideshare for my
evaluation question 4 because of its simplicity but also
because it is effective in presenting information in a
different and visually attractive way.
IMovie (annotations)- My group’s previous plan was to
use Youtube annotations however this function has
been removed so to overcome this problem we have
used IMovie annotations instead.
