The French Language
learning Blog which is owned by Oludele
Mafolasire, A graduate of French from
Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife ,
Nigeria ; has been in existence since
April 2013.Despite the fact that it had a
slow rise due to the low sensitization on
the importance of French Language in
Nigeria and other Anglo-Africa countries,
the Frenchy’s Blog is gradually picking up
as the blog traffic is currently on the rise.
The objective of the

Francophone communities in the World
accessible to every internet enabled

2. In a brief with Ganiat Sodeke who also happens to be a graduate
of French Language from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, she said the long-
run objective of the blog is to teach not only students and youths French but
also to assist the adult working class who use French as a working tool. She
said that before the end of 2015, the blog team would have successfully
utilize the Frenchy blog to assist various business executives, diplomats and
international civil servants to familiarize themselves with the French Language
and culture.
When asked how the blog is been funded, In a telephone
conversation with the Head of Operations, Frenchy Associates, Nigeria and
also owner of the blog, he answered after much pressure that its been funded
from his personal purse and that since Ganiat Sodeke joined, she has also
been very generous.
On how he intends to monetize the blog, he simply replied that the
main objective of the blog is not to make profit but rather contribute towards
the development of a bilingual society in Nigeria and Anglo-Africa, this to him
is a forward movement in ensuring regional integration in West-Africa.
Nevertheless, he said voluntary donations from the French embassy,
Individuals, Establishments and also Advertisement are ways by which funds
for maintaining the blog would be raised.
Ganiat Sodeke said contents are not only been distributed on the
blog but also on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube,
LinkedIn, Slide-share, Scoopit, BBM channel and Google+. She further said
the coming month would see the integration of online live classes via skype
been introduced into the blog as the demand for live lessons from subscribers
in Europe, Asia and North America are on the rise. She also said the
Frenchy’s blog team are currently working on a live training program on
French Language which is scheduled to hold sometime in July/August.
