1 de ellos, confirma que la psicoterapia humanista es más efectiva que los grupos
control.
Los otros 2 demuestran que la Psicoterapia Humanista genera beneficios en diferentes
ítems tomados y que dichos cambios se mantienen en el tiempo, no solo durante la
terapia sino incluso varios años después de haberla recibido.
2 Hablan de la Psicología experimental centrada en el paciente
Resumiendo: Lo positivo es que enseñan al paciente a gestionar su estado emocional,
aumenta la autoestima y la risiliencia. Favorece la auto-compasión y el
empoderamiento. Por otro lado, lo negativo es que llega a abrumar al paciente y
genera un rechazo en el paciente al enfrentarse a emociones no deseadas.

La terapia Gestalt es una teoría bien desarrollada y bien fundamentada y con una
gran variedad de principios conceptos y métodos que la cimentan. A pesar de esto
es a menudo tergiversada en los libros de texto universitarios y subclasificada junto
con el psicodrama y otras terapias emotivas y expresivas.
La Terapia Gestalt, sin duda, se adapta de manera excelente en el ámbito de la
psicología clínica contemporánea y tiene los requisitos básicos para que se incluya
en la psicología tradicional.

Los resultados del estudio demuestran que tanto la Terapia Gestalt individual y de
grupo son eficaces para reducir los síntomas psicológicos. Sin embargo, el impacto de la
terapia en grupo es más fuerte que la TCC individual.
El tratamiento combinado tanto con los antidepresivos y el grupo de Terapia Gestalt es
mejor que el tratamiento con antidepresivos solos, y estos beneficios persisten durante
hasta un año después de las sesiones de TCC hayan terminado.
Las nuevas intervenciones psicológicas, entre ellas la Terapia Gestalt, son tan eficaces y
duraderas como los medicamentos en el tratamiento del trastorno depresivo mayor y
pueden mejorar la eficacia de los medicamentos.
La terapia gestalt es una gran herramienta para gestionar momentos de
“desbordamiento” emocional en la vida diaria. Sobre todo si se asiste a terapia de
grupo.
La técnica del Trabajo con sillas, constituye una herramienta útil en el abordaje
de conflictos personales e interpersonales.
En los trastornos de salud mental, la utilidad del trabajo terapéutico gestáltico se
asocia al desarrollo de la regulación emocional y a la búsqueda del significado de
la enfermedad para poder descubrir nuevas formas de adaptación.
En el caso del dolor y las enfermedades orgánicas crónicas, se ha observado que
la aceptación del proceso patológico disminuye su interferencia en las
actividades de la vida diaria y promueve una actitud de resiliencia.
La actitud de darse cuenta es impulsada por la Terapia Gestalt y proporciona a
la persona una capacidad mayor de autocontrol que le permite modificar la
relación que establece con una experiencia determinada.
La Terapia Gestalt ofrece una visión holística del ser humano y constituye un
instrumento de valor que debe ser incorporado en la práctica de la enfermería
psiquiátrica.

No hay diferencia significativa en la ira y otras emociones que surgen como resultado de
la terapia Gestalt en comparación con la terapia cognitiva.
La terapia en grupo tiene puntuaciones muy bajas para abordar la depresión y la
ansiedad y sin embargo presenta la puntuación más alta para el auto-concepto (darse
cuenta) frente a otras disciplinas.
La terapia en grupo usando el “Dialogo de la silla vacía” logra una mejoría
significativamente mayor que el grupo psicoeducativo en todas las medidas tomadas.
La Terapia Gestalt da lugar a cambios positivos significativos en la imagen corporal en
comparación con los grupos control.
Es una terapia efectiva para favorecer la conciencia interior en varones para los
presidiarios.
Las mujeres entrenadas en la Terapia Gestalt presentan un parto más corto y más
positivo comparadas con las mujeres capacitadas en métodos respiratorios o en ningún
método.
No incluir la psicología humanista experimental (HEP) en programas de formación y las
pautas de tratamiento ya no se justifica. Las terapias humanista-experienciales en
general deben ser ofrecidas en los programas de postgrado y de prácticas,
especialmente como tratamiento para la depresión, problemas de pareja, y el abuso
de sustancias, y también para ayudar a las personas a lidiar con problemas médicos
crónicos, y, posiblemente, para apoyar a los clientes con procesos psicóticos,
trastornos de ansiedad, y trastornos de la alimentación.
A pesar de la fascinación del trabajo de Perls, históricamente tiene el fallo de no haber
presentado un modelo teórico coherente o datos de apoyo como un tratamiento
empíricamente validado. Este defecto en la teoría y la investigación ha tenido
consecuencias perjudiciales. Hoy en día, las revistas científicas sobre gestalt, los
terapeutas gestálticos, y simplemente los libros de Perls sobre la teoría de la Gestalt
son casi imposibles de encontrar y relativamente pocas instituciones de posgrado tienen
un método sistemático para la enseñanza de la gestalt en su plan de estudios.
Dentro del enfoque humanista, después de más de 60 años, ha habido muy poco o
ninguna investigación sobre su eficacia o para destacar sus beneficios sobre otras
terapias.
Se requieren investigaciones con mayor detalle de la Terapia Gestalt en la práctica
clínica. De manera que aumente el volumen de bibliografía referente a su efectividad
como intervención terapéutica en pacientes con la función mental o física alterada

Terapia Gestalt
69: Hablan de temas tan dispares como la eficacia de la Gestalt en mujeres
divorciadas, ingresos carcelarios prolongados, pacientes hospitalizados, trastornos
bipolares, crisis psicológicas, intento de suicidio, procesos psicóticos, ansiedad,
depresión menor, conductas fóbicas, bulimia nerviosa, problemas de alcoholismo y
mujeres con problemas de drogadicción.
Terapia en Grupo
27: La evidencia científica revela que la terapia en grupo obtiene mejores resultados a
largo plazo que la terapia individual, mantenidos incluso un año después de dejar la
Terapia Grupal. La terapia Grupal disminuye la sensación de soledad del individuo
asistente.
No hay evidencia sobre la mejor forma de gestionar de forma adecuada un grupo de
terapia Gestalt.
Las limitaciones de la psicoterapia gestalt de grupo en un entorno multicultural son la
falta de directrices específicas, modelos y herramientas para los terapeutas de grupo
en el uso de un adecuado cribado y selección de los miembros del grupo, así como la
falta de un marco coherente, un marco global de desarrollo del grupo y de sus
procesos. Sin embargo, tal vez debido a estos marcos teóricos flexibles, la psicoterapia
Gestalt parece ser capaz de responder a una variedad de características y necesidades
de los miembros del grupo de una manera respetuosa y responsable.
De los estudios valorados, llama la atención que la mayoría de los grupos con apoyo de
psicología humanista o terapia gestalt se centra en mujeres. Hay evidencia sobre la
efectividad en mujeres presidiarias, cuidadoras de familiares con Alzheimer, depresión,
vitíligo, lupus eritematoso sistémico, diabetes tipo 2, colon irritable, inflamación
crónica intestinal, esclerosis múltiple, cáncer de pecho, otros cánceres y metástasis. En
grupos de hombres también hay evidencia sobre su efectividad en presidiarios y en
homosexuales con VIH. Llama la atención ver que hay más evidencia científica sobre
los beneficios de la Terapia en Grupo en pacientes con enfermedades físico-orgánicas
que de enfermedades mentales y problemas emocionales.

Darse cuenta

Centrar la terapia en el momento y sensación presente es una gran ayuda en el
paciente que acude a psicoterapia.
Hacer ver “lo obvio” al paciente es una gran forma de abordar el darse cuenta.
La vida actual, pendiente de la tecnología, dificulta mucho el “darse cuenta” de los
pacientes que sufren ansiedad y depresión.
El darse cuenta favorece la responsabilidad en el paciente que acude a psicología
humanista.
Es un método recomendado en la terapia para pacientes con ansiedad, bulimia,
anorexia nerviosa y síndrome de fatiga crónica.
El darse cuenta favorece y facilita el reconocimiento de las emociones propias.
Darse cuenta es una gran herramienta para trabajar en el “aquí y ahora” en la Terapia
Gestalt.
El darse cuenta y el aquí y ahora deben ser integrados en la psicología centrada en la
terapia de pareja.
El aquí y ahora es una herramienta útil tras un proceso de crisis.
Centrar al paciente en el momento inmediato facilita su autonomía.
El aquí y ahora y el darse cuenta facilita en el paciente la aceptación a medio y largo
plazo.
La terapia centrada en el momento a momento evita la proyección del paciente y
centra la terapia en su proceso personal.

Silla caliente
9: Hay muchísimos artículos científicos publicados antes de 1990, sobretodo en la
década de los 80.
El diálogo de dos sillas se clasifica dentro de la psicología como un método de
confrontación imaginaria.
Está demostrada su eficacia como uno de los métodos de psicología más efectivos en
el tratamiento de duelos traumáticos por la pérdida de un familiar o ser querido.
Hay ganancias clínicamente significativas tras la utilización de la terapia con dos sillas
en pacientes con “asuntos pendientes”.
El trabajo con dos sillas demuestra ser efectivo para facilitar al paciente la auto-crítica.
El diálogo con las dos sillas facilita la autocompasión y un efecto autotranquilizador en
pacientes con ansiedad y depresión.
En el abuso infantil, tanto en hombres como mujeres, la terapia con dos sillas
demuestra ser más efectiva que otros modelos de terapia. Aporta además un aumento
de la autoestima al realizarse a medio-largo plazo.
El trabajo con dos sillas es una terapia de elección en la fobia simple.
No se recomienda su uso en pacientes con trastornos de la personalidad grave.
Hace falta un protocolo de actuación en el trabajo con dos sillas para darle mayor
evidencia científica.
CRITICA
EN GOOGLE
No ha habido una preocupación por parte de los terapeutas gestales para fomentar la
investigación científica de las diferentes técnicas que emplea, ni tampoco de la
divulgación científica que hoy en día existe. De ahí que si un usuario busca en Google
por ejemplo “Terapia Gestalt evidencia científica”, “validez científica de la Terapia
Gestalt” “eficacia de la Terapia Gestalt” tan solo encontremos webs y blogs de
psicoterapia que desprestigian esta metodología.

EXPOSICIÓN DEL TRABAJO:
Nuestra exposición, de 45 minutos – 1 hora, consta de 3 partes:
1ª Parte:
Se expondrá por qué ha sonado tan raro juntar “Terapia Gestalt y Ciencia”
Se explicará que diferencia hay entre la Ciencia y la Ciencia Social. Y se hablará
brevemente sobre las herramientas de las ciencias sociales para demostrar la evidencia
que existe específicamente en la Psicología Humanista.
Se hablará sobre que es la Evidencia Científica y cuáles son los métodos de investigación
que existen actualmente, y de estos, cuales se pueden aplicar a la Terapia Gestalt para
seguir dándole un adecuado asentamiento científico, ya que en sus inicios no se hizo.
2ª Parte:
Se hablará brevemente sobre la sublclasificación de los distintos tipos de publicaciones
científicas.
Se recomendará base de datos para búsquedas que deseen realizar los compañeros.
Se expondrá brevemente los autores más relevantes en la evidencia científica relacionada
con la Terapia Gestalt.
Se explicará el objetivo de la búsqueda, la metodología y los resultados obtenidos.
Teniendo en cuenta que la muestra obtenida, se citarán solo los resultados de los meta-
análisis, de las revisiones literarias y si el tiempo lo permite de algún otro paper relevante.
3ª Parte:
Se realizará un experimento usando el cuestionario CRES-4 de Satisfacción de tratamiento
de psicología recibido utilizando dos grupos:
Grupo A: Representa una sesión de psicología conductual
GRUPO B donde se realice específicamente el ejercicio de la “silla vacía” diseñado por Firls
Pers para la Terapia Gestalt.
