The University of Cape Town organized the Vice Chancellor’s open lecture ion the 26th of August’ 2014, which was delivered by Dr Rajesh Tandon, Co-chair, UNESCO Chair on Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education. This was also followed by the Launch of the GUNi World Report 5 on ‘Knowledge Exchange and Higher Education: Contributing to social change’. "If universities get their knowledge production function right in the contemporary context, they will be able to improve learning in their teaching and that will be their most important contribution in terms of service," said Dr Rajesh Tandon during his Vice-Chancellor’s Open Lecture.
