PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF), October 2008 to present.
 Area Director (Aug. 2011-present): A member of the Program Services Leadership Team which assists BGCSF with
programmatic vision, Club operations, and strategic planning. Club level responsibilities include overseeing the
programmatic vision, resource management, and community relations for the two BGCSF sites in the Mission District.
Managerial responsibilities included supervising the Club director for each site, budget oversight of both Clubs ($1.1M),
approve hirings, and performance reviews for employees of each site. Co-chaired the BGCSF Organizational Training
Steering Committee (2013-15); and managed the annual evaluation calendar (2013-15) which included coordinating
various assessment obligations for both internal assessment and external obligations to funders.
 Clubhouse Director, BGCSF-Columbia Park Clubhouse, and (Oct. 2008-Aug. 2011): Managed a team of 10
employees, 35,000 sq. ft. facility, and a $750K annual budget. Responsibilities included overseeing the programmatic
vision, resource management, and community relations for the largest BGCSF program site. Coordinated three staff
retreats and ten planning days as the Clubhouse Director. This site serves over 250 youth a day.
Southwest Youth Collaborative (SWYC), Chicago, IL, November 2006-June 2008; and October 1995-August 1998.
 Education Consultant (Nov 2006-June2008): Assisted SWYC leadership in implementing the new Educational
Talent Search (ETS) grant. Responsibilities included establishing relationships with the schools participating in the grant
funding, recruiting and training the ETS director, grant reporting, and creating program evaluation tools. Assisted the
Communities in Schools Coordinator at the Little Village High School campus by providing coaching, and creating
assessment tools for youth participants.
 Program Director (Oct. 1995-Aug. 1998): Served as the program director for the Greater Lawn Community Youth
Network SWYC site. Managed a team of four employees, a $250K budget, and 8,000 sq.ft. facility. The program offered
both an after school program and full day summer program.
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) Office of Small Schools, November 2001 -August 2005.
 Senior Smaller Learning Communities (SLCs) Lead Facilitator (Aug 2004-Aug 2005): Office level responsibilities
include training and assisting new staff, coordinating the Annual Performance Report for the SLC grant and meeting
with the senior staff to update on the progress of SLCs. School level responsibilities include assisting teacher teams at

three CPS high schools in achieving the goals that were identified in the federally funded SLC grant. Attend teacher
team meetings, meet with the school administrators regularly and monitor expenditures of grant funds at each school.
Also assisted CPS Office of Small Schools’ projects such as being the CPS community liaison for the new Little Village
High School $60M construction.

projects such as assisting with reviewing and participating in small schools RFP applications.
ACORN Nuestra America Charter High School (NACHS), Chicago, IL August 1998-June 2002.
 Director of Student Affairs (July 2001-June 2002): Responsibilities included enforcing the expectations and guidelines
of the school, tracking the academic progress of each student, resolving conflicts between students, supervise and
collaborate with faculty on student issues. Other duties included assisting the principal on administrative duties that
included facilitating faculty meetings, facilitating board meetings, and monitoring the school’s budget.
 Social Studies Teacher (Aug. 1998-June 2002): Responsibilities include creating the curriculum and daily
implementation of U.S. Studies within the school which is designed through the framework of Race, Class, and Gender.
The class is taught using themes of U.S. history such as Colonial History, History of the Constitution, Women’s Movement,
African-American Studies, Urban History, Foreign Affairs, etc. Other duties include office administration and organizing after
school events such as Student Council.
