2. HISTORY OF COMMUNICATION
• Communicating with over a distance is known as telecommunication. The
first forms of telecommunication were smoke signals, drums or fire torches.
The major disadvantage with these communication systems was that only a
set of pre-determined messages could be transmitted. This was overcome in
the 18th and 19th century through development of telegraphy and Morse
code
• Invention of telephone and establishment of commercial telephony in 1878
marked a turnaround in communication systems and real telecommunication
was born International Telecommunication Union (ITU) defines
telecommunication as transmission, emission and reception of any signs,
signals or messages by electromagnetic systems.
3. HISTORY OF COMMUNICATION
CONTINUED…
• Now we had the communication technology to connect with
people physically located thousands of kilometers away.
• Telephones slowly gave way to television, videophone, satellite
and finally computer networks. Computer networks have
revolutionized modern day communication and communication
technologies.
5. THRIVING TECHNOLOGIES
• Technology is always constantly improving. If you look back 20 years and
compare it to today, you will see dramatic changes in communication
technologies. These five technologies have all advanced from 10 years ago
and there will be on a different level by 2027.
Telephone
Computer
Television
Social media
Video gaming
6. THE FUTURE OF TELEPHONES
• The future of telephones are that they will be closely
embedded into our daily lives. They will control and
potentially run our lives.
• They will have holographic displays for easy
touchscreen access.
• They will be eco friendly and most phone will be water
proof.
• Flexible frames will be seen more to avoid breakage and
for longer lasting devices.
7. THE FUTURE OF COMPUTERS
• The ideas involve bringing virtual reality into
the computer world. This allows the user feel
involved in a reality world of learning.
• The future of computers will present minimal
wires, one would not have to go through the
hassle of broken chargers.
• Perceptual computing is another idea that that
will involve devices that will allow one to use
their hands and body to perform features on
the computer.
8. THE FUTURE OF TELEVISIONS
• Soon there will be much bigger screens
with better definitions.
• Smart televisions are starting to take
over because people connect
streaming applications to them. The
streaming world of television will only
grow and evolve by 2027.
• Cables and satellite televisions will
eventually vanish due to internet based
applications.
9. THE FUTURE OF TELEVISION CONTINUED…
• Smart televisions will allow viewers to split the
screen to watch different shows.
• Viewers will be able to purchase items from their
living room television rather than leaving the room
to go purchase or connecting another device to the
internet.
• The future of television will allow viewers to be
interactive, it will allow users to communicate with
their televisions by voice command rather than by
remote control.
10. THE FUTURE OF SOCIAL MEDIA
• Social media will not change much but more accessories are
going to be helpful. Watches and hand devices that allow one to
access their social media accounts will emerge.
11. THE FUTURE OF VIDEO GAMING
• 3D virtual reality gaming is
already taking place but in 2027,
it will be in full effect.
• More games will allow users to
physically involved.
• Better game graphics and
holographs that make the games
look more realistic will come into
effect.
12. IN CONCLUSION …
• Technology will be different in a few years from now, it will be
bigger and better, and, it will change and impact peoples’ lives.
Technology does not have any conscience , by this I mean it will
affect people positively and negatively depending on how
people choose to use it. It may both be a curse and a blessing.
But the change that is coming with technology on earth, is
inevitable.
