What is important, in life, is not who you are, but that someone appreciates you for what you are, accepts you the way you are and loves you unconditionally.
2. A shop owner placed a notice at the door of his
shop. It said:
“Puppies for sale”
This type of notice always attracts children; in fact,
soon after, a young boy appeared at the door and
3. “How much do the puppies cost?"
The owner replied: “Between 30
and 50 Euro".
The child put his hand in his
pocket and drew out some coins:
“I only have 2.50... May I see
them?".
4. The man smiled and whistled.
From the back of the shop, a
dog appeared followed by five
puppies.
One of the puppies couldn’t
catch up with the rest.
The child immediataly pointed
at this limping puppy. “What’s
wrong with this puppy?” he
asked.
5. The man explained that the puppy was born with a
defective hip which would make it lame for life.
The child, all excited, exclaimed:
“This is the puppy I want to buy”
And the man replied: “If you really want him, you
may have him as a gift".
The child, annoyed, looked at him straight in the
eyes, and said, “No, I don’t want him as a gift from
you. He’s worth as much as the other puppies and
I’ll pay you the full price.”
6. In fact, here are my 2.37 euro now and I’ll pay you
50 cents a month till he’s fully paid up".
The man replied: “ You shouldn’t buy him. He will
never be able to run, jump and play like the other
puppies”.
The child bent down and drew up his trousers to
reveal a useless left leg, kept in place by a metal
support.
7. In life, what is important is not who you are, but that someone
appreciates you for what you are, accepts you the way you are
and loves you unconditionally.
He looked again at the man and said:
“So what? I too can’t run and the puppy needs someone
to understand him".
The man’s eyes were full of tears. He smiled and said:
“My son, I only hope every puppy will have an owner
like you".
