WINTER CRAFT WEEK

winter-themed crafts will be available to make in the

PROJECT FEEDERWATCH 
Every Saturday from November to April we will be counting 
the birds. Each year for Project Feederwatch, "birders" will 
watch the feeders counting how many of each species come 
to visit. The research helps scientist understand population 
changes. If you want to help with this amazing research 
project, call the Library to sign up for a Saturday! You can 
count for as much time as you have, so don't worry if you 
can only stop by for an hour. We will also 
provide binoculars and field guides to

HOLIDAY DECORATING FOR THE BIRDS

HOLIDAY TRADITIONS: EXPERIENCE A MIX 6 pm, Thursday, December 11, South Spend an evening at the library experiencing a mix of la Posada, a Mexican holiday tradition, with a contemporary American tradition of visiting with Santa. NATURAL WINTER WREATHS 10 am, Saturday, December 6, Schlagle To register: 913-299-2284 Fee: $10 ($5 if you bring a base) Make a beautiful natural wreath just in time for the holidays! We'll provide you with a grapevine wreath base and fresh-cut juniper or cedar for the foundation. Decorate your wreath with berries, pine cones, acorns, festive holiday ribbon, and other embellishments. Feel free to bring your own decorations to add! All ages welcome, children must attend with an adult. WINTER CRAFT WEEK Library Hours, December 15-23, West Come celebrate the end of the school term and the approaching holidays with our craft week. Various winter-themed crafts will be available to make in the Children’s Library throughout the week. For children 4- 11 years old. Groups of 6 or more must call ahead (913) 596-5800 x1016. Each year for Project Feederwatch, "birders" will watch the feeders counting how many of each species come to visit. The research helps scientist understand population changes. If you want to help with this amazing research project, call the Library to sign up for a Saturday! You can count for as much time as you have, so don't worry if you can only stop by for an hour.
