WAYS TO REVITALIZE YOUR HEALTH AND FITNESS
Many of us love the beautiful season of spring and summer. It’s that time of year again when
sweater weather is over. Summer is here and now all we have to do is motivate ourselves to live
healthy.
Here are some tips for getting started:
 Buy a new pair of sneakers or running shoes and start moving your body.
 Update your closet with new clothing and exercise gear.
 Clean out your pantry and replace chocolate, chips and unhealthy snacks with veggies.
Begin motivating yourself by picking an exercise routine that you enjoy. Pick any activity, yoga,
dancing, running, walking and try to do it often. As our body moves it is detoxifying and will benefit
our health. Our lymphatic system, an entire network of vessels is our body’s drainage system and it
helps remove waste from the blood. Lymph gets moved by breathing and muscle contractions and
that is why exercise is so crucial to the process.
“Exercise is not a hobby, it’s about feeling stronger and more resilient,” says Adam Pearlman,
MD…Exercise can reduce stress levels and should not be a source of discomfort or frustration.
Exercise is about calming the psyche and caring for your body.
Fitness can be used to de-stress in the following ways:
 Pay close attention to your body muscles as they stretch and contract.
 To detoxify our minds we must get into the “here and now,” try to let go of your fears.
 Something as simple as standing up frequently contracts our leg muscles, improving
cholesterol, blood sugar, and supports our metabolism.
 Fitness can take place anywhere not only in a gym.
Fun Ways to be Active and Motivated this summer:
 Go on a nature walk or hike
 Take a walking tour
 Ride a bike
 Be adventurous!! Rock climbing, or rafting
IF ALL ELSE FAILS, PUT THOSE SNEAKERS ON AND WALK OUTSIDE!!
