6.  On any machine that can access an ACT
database
 We recommend running it on the server
hosting the ACT DB
 It can be invoked manually to run or can use
Windows scheduled tasks to run campaigns
 Because SAM is it’s own application, sitting
outside of ACT is why the tasks run and work
 It does daily or periodic polling of the ACT
database to see what needs to be “done”

16.  Reads emails (either from a POP mailbox or directly

 Sales Automation Manager (if installed and setup)
can then take the contact and:
 1. Automatically send the first response
 2. Enter the contact in a custom automated process
(or “campaign”) for follow-up.
