I am a proud S&OP zealot, evangelizer, proponent.... After implementing an S&OP process and tool pilot at Michelin in the mid 90's - S&OP and demand planning became a career focus. (some might say obsession) Before that I was a "supply sider" spending 9 years working at the plant / DC level developing SCM and plant level apps, including production (finite) scheduling, DRP, MRP, COQ, Inventory management, and Order Management. I ran a production cell for a while, and a production and inventory control group. My early career was all IT, all the time. I worked for Unisys (then Burroughs) out of school, then Perkin Elmer- I was there during the Hubble days - wrote piles of code ...
