2. concept development
This is the phase
where outlines,
concept art, and
summaries are
developed. This is
essentially putting
together
brainstormed ideas
into an organized
outline, which helps
define the story
being told.
3. pre-production
This is when the
screenplay is written
beginning with an
initial draft. this also
includes
storyboarding. Film
budgets, locations,
props and costumes,
and script changes are
also necessary. A
page of a screenplay
is one minute of
screen time.
4. production
This is the
shortest part of
film production,
depending on the
length of the
script. This part
of filmmaking is
when the
cameras start
rolling.
5. postproduction
Postproduction is
when the footage is
edited, visual
effects are added,
music if there is any
is composed during
this phase, and titles
are added. It is
when raw footage
can start to
resemble a real
movie.
