  1. Set your agenda when you go . Have one, not 10 purposes you want to accomplish. Go alone, or if you go with others, split up. This is not the time socialize with old friends. Meet with strangers and make it work for you. Placement of your nametag Your nametag belongs on your right shoulder. Keep your cards in one pocket and those you receive in another Do not take a purse or briefcase. Write key notes on cards of contacts you meet (As long as you have their permission). Follow up promptly Follow up within one or two days. Set up meetings if there is a mutual interest. Or, make a date to talk on the telephone.
