A group of companies in Turkey is preparing to
invest €30 million in green energy in Romania
Cenk Demir Group of Companies in Turkey is interested in green
energy market in Romania and announces major investment in this
segment. The group has earmarked €30 million for the first phase of
the project, proposing that in future, to reach 100 MW at the local
level.
"Dobrogea is an attractive area for this type of business and therefore, here we start our project. In
2012 we will do feasibility studies and will invest heavily in the period 2013-2014", said Cenk
Kucuk, the group CEO.
He said he supports both investments in solar and wind farms, considering that green energy is a
sector of the economy that will generate long-term income.
"At present, we are not working with Romanian partners in the private or government, but we don’t
exclude it in the future. For this project we use the Romanian workforce in a proportion of 80%",
said Cenk Kucuk. According to him, a subsidiary of the business will be also an investment in
modern greenhouses.
Cenk Kucuk’s Group using a power plant in Turkey with a power of 20 MW natural gas-fired. In
2014, the group will operate an additional 70 MW plant that will operate the same way. In addition
to power plants based on natural gas, Cenk Demir is obtaining work permits in Turkey to develop
green energy projects.
