In Riot,I will be goingfora more simple designcomparedtothe likesof modernmagazinesyoucanfind
instorestoday.The Frontcover,while still putting itself outthere willnotbe advertisingmuchother
than the mainband of the magazine whichwill be onthe double page spread.The mainaimof the front
page will be totry and get a personinthe shopto give the magazine a chance,and to standout from the
crowd insteadof blendinginwiththe othermagazines.The skyline will be advertisingvariousthingsfor
the magazine andI'll be tryingtouse quite abitof colourto try and getacross the message tothe
customerina store that theywantto at leastlookat the magazine,therefore togive ita chance at being
purchased.Maybe a fewarticleswill be advertisedonthe frontpage,howeverI've foundthat
magazinesreallylike toputoutthere to the audience informationabouttheirdouble page spread,
therefore Iwill be doingthe same andevenonthe contentspage.The masthead,similartomanyothers
on variousmagazineswillbe quite hiddenonthe frontpage,tomake wayfor the mainartists,usually
tuckedawaybehindtheirhead.The skylinewill be there asnormal andthere will be few otherarticles
there.Onthe contentspage there will be one persononthe leftof the page,withat the top inlarge
standout fontand writing,anadvertisementforthe double page spreadanditspage number.
House Style
Because of the urban, rebelliousstyle of the Rockgenre,mymagazine will alsofeature thesestylesand
stereotypesforthe rockgenre.Anexample couldbe the name itself,Riotasa rebellioustermwhichas
soonas you hearthe word on a musicmagazine,youcaneasilyassume thatitis of the Rockgenre,
whichisafterall what I want.There isalso the fontof the headline of the magazine,the Riotfontwill
have an urban androck music feel toitwiththe texture andscrape marks andmetalliclike feel toit.The
magazine'simageswillalsofeature guitars,ampsandpropswhichwouldsuitthe rockgenre,andeven
the poses,bodylanguage andexcretionsbythe modelswillfitinwiththe rockgenre style.
Target Audience
My targetaudience isthe typical rockgenre magazine audience.Thiswouldconsistof teenagers,usually
around15 to18 yearsold.Of course otherpeople whogenerallyenjoyrockmusiccouldbe targetedby
thismagazine,butreallyIdon'twant to be usingany wordswhichare too formal.I'dwant to really
connectwiththe rock culture withthe magazine inthe wayits images,themes,coloursandlanguage is
setout. Anyone whoisgenerallyinterestedinrockmusicI thinkwouldenjoythismagazine.
Cover Information
The Magazine wouldinmy eyescostaround£1.20 as it isjust startingout,and I couldn'treallysetittoo
highotherwise peoplewouldnotwanttobuyit and wouldmuchratherbuy a magazine they're usedto
and knowwhatthey're goingto getfromit. If I was to increase the pricingof the magazine I'dsayan

3. extra£1 wouldbe the maximumIwouldgosince the average popularmagazine goesforaroundno
more than £2. I'd wantmy magazine tobe a biweeklymagazine since itisn'tasmuchof a deal as a
weeklymagazine, thoughit'snota dreadedlonganddraggingwaitfora monthlylongone.Everyother
weekshoulddojustfine formymagazine.
Publishing House
I thinkI wouldlike mymagazine tobe publishedbyTime Inc(UK).Yes,theyare an American
incorporationthoughtheydoinface branch out to the UnitedKingdom.Theyalreadyproduce abundle
of magazines,all of differentgenres,andall of whichare relativelysuccessful,therefore I'msure my
magazine woulddowell underthem.Theyownmanyothercompanieswhichproduce magazinesandall
kindsof media,andI thinkthat thiswouldbe the rightchoice formy magazine.
