Travelling Experiences of Mustang District by students of BBA

2. Objectives:
1.To gain a deeper understanding of the history and culture of the
Mustang region, which has been influenced by both Tibetan and
Nepalese traditions.
2.To explore the unique geography and landscapes of Upper
Mustang, which include barren deserts, towering peaks, and
winding river valleys.
3.To visit important cultural sites and monuments, such as ancient
Buddhist monasteries, palaces, and temples.
4.To interact with local people and communities, practicing cross-
cultural communication and building empathy and
understanding.
5.To witness and participate in traditional cultural activities, such
as festivals, dances, and ceremonies.
6.To develop outdoor and adventure skills, such as trekking,
camping, and navigating unfamiliar terrain.
7.To learn about the challenges and opportunities facing remote
communities in Nepal, and to think critically about possible
solutions to these challenges.

3. Overview on “Kathmandu to
Muktinath”
Day 1
• We started our trip from Kathmandu to Beni
Day 2
• On day 2, we continued our trip from Beni to Chusang
• On the way we visited a Rupse Falls (Jharna)
• After that we visited Tato pani
• On the way of Chusang , we visited Kali Gandaki river.

4. Day 3
• On 3rd day, We reached our final destination i.e. Korola Border. During
our travel we also visit Lomanthang village. Then we return back and
we went to Kagbeni and stay there.
Day 4
• The weather in the morning of fourth day was raining.
• We heard the news of landslide, after the clearance of landslide we
headed towards Baglun and visited the longest Suspension bridge i.e.
Gandaki Golden Bridge and Kalika Mandir. Pokhara was our final
destination and we heads towards Pokhara.
Day 5
• It was our last day of our tour
• We visited their Pumdikot of Pokhara and on the way we also visit
Begnas Tal. After that we returned back to Kathmandu.

5. Introduction to Kagbeni :
• Kagbeni is a village located in the Mustang district of
Nepal.
• It is situated at an altitude of 2,800 meters (9,186 feet)
and is a popular stop for trekkers and tourists exploring
the Annapurna Circuit.
• The village is known for its ancient architecture, including
the Kag Chode Thupten Samphel Ling Monastery, which
dates back to the 15th century.
• Kagbeni is also located on the banks of the Kali Gandaki
River, which is considered a sacred river by Hindus and
Buddhists..

6. Rupse Jharna:
• Rupse Falls is a waterfall Myagdi District in
central Nepal.
• It is located in Dana Gupalika of western
Nepal.
• It is 300 meters (984 feet) tall.
• The Rupse falls is a popular tourist destination.
• Rupse is located in Beni-Jomsom Highway
route.
• It is approximately 110 km from Pokhara and
approximately 40.8 km from Jomsom.

7. Tatopani:
• Tatopani is a natural hot spring located in the
Mustang district of Nepal.
• It is situated at an altitude of around 1,200 meters
(3,937 feet) and is a popular stop for trekkers and
travelers exploring the region.
• The hot springs at Tatopani are believed to have
healing properties, and many visitors come to soak
in the warm water and relax their muscles after a
long day of hiking or trekking.
• The water is rich in minerals such as sulfur,
calcium, and magnesium, which are said to have
therapeutic benefits for the skin and joints.

8. Chusang:
• Chusang is a village located in the
Mustang district of Nepal, situated
at an altitude of approximately
2,920 meters (9,580 feet).
• It is located on the banks of the
Kali Gandaki River and is a popular
stop for trekkers and travelers
exploring the Mustang region.

10. Lomang Thang:
• Lomanthang, also known as Lo Manthang, is a
walled city located in the Mustang district of
Nepal.
• It is situated at an altitude of around 3,840
meters (12,598 feet) and is the capital of the
former Kingdom of Lo, a semi-autonomous state
that existed until Nepal's unification in the 18th
century.
• The city is surrounded by a 6.4-kilometer (4-
mile) long wall and has four entrance gates.
• Lomanthang is also known for its role in the salt
trade, which connected Tibet and Nepal via the
Kali Gandaki River.
• The city was an important center of commerce
and culture along this trade route, and the legacy
of this history can still be seen in the local
architecture and customs.

11. Marpha Village:
• Marpha is a small village located in the
Mustang district of Nepal, situated at an
altitude of approximately 2,670 meters
(8,760 feet).
• Marpha is famous for its apple orchards
and is known as the "Apple Capital" of
Nepal.
• The village is surrounded by apple
orchards, and visitors can sample fresh
apples, apple cider, and apple brandy.
• The village also produces other fruits such
as apricots, peaches, and pears.

12. Mukti -Nath Temple
• Muktinath Temple is a sacred place of
pilgrimage for both Hindus and Buddhists
located in the Mustang district of Nepal, at
an altitude of approximately 3,710 meters
(12,172 feet).
• The temple is situated on a high mountain
range and is one of the most important
shrines in Nepal.
• For Hindus, Muktinath is considered one of
the 108 holy places of worship, and it is
believed that bathing in the sacred waters
of the temple can help to achieve moksha
or liberation from the cycle of rebirth.
• The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu
and is home to a sacred flame, which is
believed to have been burning for
thousands of years.

13. Korola Border
• Korala is a mountain pass
between Tibet and Upper Mustang.
At only 4,660 metres (15,290 ft)
