3. INTRODUCTION:
Benjamin Franklin (January 17,
1706 [O.S. January 6, 1705 –
April 17, 1790) was one of the
Founding Fathers of the United
States. A noted polymath,
Franklin was a leading author,
printer, political theorist,
politician, postmaster, scientist,
musician, inventor, satirist, civic
activist, statesman, and
diplomat.

Franklin wrote the first five chapters of his
autobiography in England in 1771, resumed again
thirteen years later (1784-85) in Paris and later in
1788 when he returned to the United States.
Franklin ends the account of his life in 1757 when
he was 51 years old.
