12. Q. I have a Drupal site already, do I need to upgrade as soon as D8 becomes available? A. No. However, the need to upgrade is definitely more pressing if you have a version 6 or lower for security reasons. Drupal will only support two versions at a time. Q. Is it better to upgrade or completely redevelop the site? A. There’s no clear answer here as it will depend largely on the makeup of your site and the level of customisation that is has. For some clients it can be much better to completely redevelop from scratch, especially if a design change is desired as well.
13. Q. I don’t currently have a Drupal site, what’s in it for me? A. If you've thought about moving over to Drupal you’ll find everything you need to know about the new version within our supporting document. Outside of Drupal if you plan on having any major upgrade work to your site the handy tips included here can help you manage the process more effectively. Q. What if my company doesn't have an IT department or sufficient marketing resource to prepare? A. Not every organisation will have sufficient resources across all areas and it certainly won’t mean that you will struggle to upgrade if you don’t take the actions we have suggested. Most of the tips offered to help an upgrade go smoother can be carried out by anyone who has good working knowledge of your website.
14. Q. How can I help To speed up the launch of Drupal 8? A. You are a developer: There are a lot of outstanding issues, check them, get mentoring if you need, and patch them, all help is appreciated. You are not a developer: Not everything in Drupal is coding, all of us can test and provide the most valuable thing we can get, feedback. Check how to help and start accelerating the Drupal 8 release date.
