This document outlines a family sports picnic program with the following goals: promoting a healthy lifestyle and strengthening family bonds through physical activity. The program aims to engage students, parents, teachers and community members. It describes various activities that will take place like sports competitions between parents and children, health workshops, and a healthy food station. A number of example sports competitions are provided, like basketball shooting, volleyball hitting, and obstacle courses. The event rules emphasize safety, proper attire, and fair play. In closing, it thanks the European Commission for funding and notes the author is solely responsible for the content.

AIMS:

PARTICIPANTS:
4. 1. Family sports competitions.
2. Prevention contest - crosswords, tests.
3. „ Healthy Spine” workshops.
4. Specialist advice on „ How to take care of your spine”.
5. Competition for the best pro-health slogan.
6. Gastronomic stand offering healthy school lunch for students
and healthy work lunch for parents.
7. Sports tournaments: mini volleyball, badminton, streetball,
table tennis, mini football.
Proposals made by the students or other participants of picnic
(after consulting them with the organisers).
WAYS OF REALIZATION:
5. Participants of the picnic are obliged to obey the rules and
safety regulations.
Participation in the sports competitions requires wearing
suitable sports clothes and trainers.
PE teachers will carry out a warm-up for the participants.
Sports tournaments will be played according to the rules of
each subsequent game and discipline and the „ fair play”
rules will be obeyed.
6. 1. Throwing a ball into a basket.
Each person throws a ball five times from a marked place. The sum
of both participants’ successful throws counts. In case of a draw
there is another series of free –throw shooting.
2. Hitting a volleyball into a basket.
Each person hits a volleyball five times so as to shoot a successful
throw from a marked place. The sum of both participants’
successful throws counts. In case of a draw there is another series
of hits.
EXAMPLES OF SPORTS COMPETITIONS
In each competition a team consists of a parent and a child.
7. 3. Passing a volleyball over the net.
Participants pass the ball to each other over the net and the
number of passes on the other side of the net counts. There are 3
attempts, out of which the largest number of passes is counted.
4. Juggling a football.
Each participant juggles a football using only legs. The number of
kicks made by both players counts.

8. 5. Basketball slalom dribbling.
Participants dribble a basketball on time through a slalom course
of cones arranged in the shape of number 8.
6. Football slalom dribble.
Participants dribble a football on time through a slalom course of
poles arranged in the shape of number 8.
EXAMPLES OF SPORTS COMPETITIONS
9. 7. Passing the shuttlecock.
Participants strike the shuttlecock with their rackets so that
it passes over the net. The number of passes on the other side of
the net counts. There are 3 attempts, out of which the largest
number of passes is counted.
8. Obstacle course.
Participants must overcome a simple obstacle course in the
shortest time possible.
