VISUAL MERCHANDISING / IN STORE MARKETING
Shop concepts, assortments, streamlining inventory, department location and category:
Goody’s Family Clothing, Knoxville, TN
Defined and clarify the overall merchandising concept and direction of the Company, along with strengthening the
market position and brand recognition of the Company through the skillful selection of an innovative shop concept
and merchandising plan, as appealing directly to the company’s targeted customers.
Selected Results:
Established, from inception through successful operation, the development of overall visual
presentation standards, in store sign-age, corporate and vendor graphics to produce a clean, and well
defined in store marketing presentation. Achieving consistency throughout chain in visual merchandising
and presentation, this resulted in consistent field execution from 68% to 98% in 2006 and enhanced the
customer shopping experience.
Developed new store and current store layout to maximize major departments and classifications
within those departments. Designed sixteen typical store plan-o-grams that corresponded with one of 380
plus stores to communicate monthly merchandising updates and quarterly/seasonal floor set execution
packs. Creating consistency throw the chain.
Developed and managed the creative presentation calendar including special projects and
installations. Quarterly/Seasonal floor set execution packs included upcoming advertising, special graphics,
merchandise flow, product information, graphic layouts, and visual displays. Insuring timely completion.
Analyzed business on an ongoing basis and developed creative merchandising solutions using brand
appropriate visual strategies to drive sales and margin. Improve sales per square foot through the
intensification of key items and classifications while maximizing sales and gross margins from 32% in
2005 to 34% in 2006. Established rack specific merchandising within department and classification witched
resulted in consistent merchandise execution throughout chain.
STORE /DESIGN & PLANNING
Goody’s Family Clothing, Knoxville, TN
Customized shop concepts and fixture designs to adapt vendor and private label programs that resulted in building
the corporate brand image. Presented in a manner that was easily executable throughout chain, resulting in a high
impact presentation.
Selected Results:
Worked directly with Corp. Executive, Director of Store Planning and staff in the development of
design concepts, budgetary needs for new and remodeled stores including: interior design, aesthetic
requirements, operational and fixture functionality including fixture capacity. Ensuring the brand identity.
Initiated the first dollar per square foot contribution analysis used to balance space planning to
merchandise selling, which allowed the merchants, planning and allocations to more accurately plan open-
to-buy dollars for new stores. Resulted in substantial savings in markdown, transfer, and man-hour dollars.
STORE EXPANSION
Goody’s Family Clothing, Knoxville, TN
Established Store Expansion Teams to maximize efficiency of the new store set up process, training of management
teams and associates, Developed and retained top talent, leading, motivating and mentoring the team. Successfully
opened 262 new locations, relocated and remodeled 104 stores.
Selected Results:
Accelerated profitable new store growth, allowing the opening of up to 50 new locations per year,
averaging 28,000 square feet, resulted in 8% higher sales than existing stores.
Developed and directed corporate processes for new store setup from conception to
implementation. Resulted in a 55% reduction in opening costs and setup time.

monitoring and performance management. Developing staff and strategies to achieve growth, and displayed skills
exemplifying the vision and direction of the company and the customer shopping experience. Worked with the EVP
of Stores to improve operational process and create new ways to meet strategic objectives.
Selected Results:
Maximized the growth of revenues while increasing productivity and profitability by focusing on
keeping controllable expenses (labor, shrink, etc.) within the budgeted targets, while ensuring policies and
procedures are adhered to. Example :

Tent Clearance Sale).
Developed consistent, structured Visible Leadership Program to meet daily performance and team
tasking goals. Exceeding external/internal audit goal by 3.8% and mystery shop score by 1.6%
Developed a succession plan that incorporates new store growth. This included team member to
supervisor, Assistant Manager to Store Manager, Store Manager to District Manager, and DM to Regional
Vice President and identify development areas for direct and indirect reports and implemented action plans
for individual growth.
Member of committee that substantially improved labor productivity and best practices for product
receipt/processing/stocking that were implemented chain-wide.

Sidney’s, Roanoke, VA
Operational responsibility for a chain of 87 mid-scale women’s specialty apparel stores averaging 4500 sq. ft.
Including sales accountability, budget planning, allocation, and merchandise presentation and directly reported to
the owner and President of the company. Volume exceeded $77 million. Selected Results:
Transformed the store culture from a primarily operational focus to a sales and customer centric
approach. Developed strategies to improve the customer shopping experience and measure
results.
REGIONAL DIRECTOR (Mar.1984 to Jan.1987)
G & G Shops/RAVE, New York, NY
Led five District Managers and was responsible for 49 stores in the Southern Mid-Atlantic with total volume
exceeding $29 million and successfully opened 30 new stores in the California Region. Selected Results:
Ranked second of six regions for volume increase over last year (1986) and the highest percent of
increase – Top two District Managers in chain for the Christmas contest.
SENIOR DISTRICT MANAGER (Oct. 1977 to Feb. 1984)
Brooks Fashion New York, NY
Supervised one District Manager and two Area Supervisors with 25 stores in Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee,
and North Carolina. Volume of approximately $13.5 million. Selected Results:
Supervised western expansion, which resulted in the successful opening of 16 stores in four months in
California, Oregon, and Alaska and developed five Store Managers into District Managers.

Selected Results: Established, from inception through successful operation, the development of overall visual presentation standards, in store sign-age, corporate and vendor graphics to produce a clean, and well defined in store marketing presentation. Achieving consistency throughout chain in visual merchandising and presentation, this resulted in consistent field execution from 68% to 98% in 2006 and enhanced the customer shopping experience. Developed new store and current store layout to maximize major departments and classifications within those departments. Designed sixteen typical store plan-o-grams that corresponded with one of 380 plus stores to communicate monthly merchandising updates and quarterly/seasonal floor set execution packs. Improve sales per square foot through the intensification of key items and classifications while maximizing sales and gross margins from 32% in 2005 to 34% in 2006. STORE /DESIGN & PLANNING Goody’s Family Clothing, Knoxville, TN Customized shop concepts and fixture designs to adapt vendor and private label programs that resulted in building the corporate brand image. Presented in a manner that was easily executable throughout chain, resulting in a high impact presentation. Selected Results: Worked directly with Corp. Executive, Director of Store Planning and staff in the development of design concepts, budgetary needs for new and remodeled stores including: interior design, aesthetic requirements, operational and fixture functionality including fixture capacity. Ensuring the brand identity. Initiated the first dollar per square foot contribution analysis used to balance space planning to merchandise selling, which allowed the merchants, planning and allocations to more accurately plan open- to-buy dollars for new stores. Resulted in substantial savings in markdown, transfer, and man-hour dollars. STORE EXPANSION Goody’s Family Clothing, Knoxville, TN Established Store Expansion Teams to maximize efficiency of the new store set up process, training of management teams and associates, Developed and retained top talent, leading, motivating and mentoring the team. Successfully opened 262 new locations, relocated and remodeled 104 stores. Selected Results: Accelerated profitable new store growth, allowing the opening of up to 50 new locations per year, averaging 28,000 square feet, resulted in 8% higher sales than existing stores. Developed and directed corporate processes for new store setup from conception to implementation. Resulted in a 55% reduction in opening costs and setup time.

Responsible for increasing profits and maximizing the growth of revenue, while developing seven (7) District Managers, and regional support staff. Skilled at maximize team performance, coaching, monitoring and performance management. Developing staff and strategies to achieve growth, and displayed skills exemplifying the vision and direction of the company and the customer shopping experience. Worked with the EVP of Stores to improve operational process and create new ways to meet strategic objectives. Including sales accountability, budget planning, allocation, and merchandise presentation and directly reported to the owner and President of the company. Volume exceeded $77 million. Selected Results: Transformed the store culture from a primarily operational focus to a sales and customer centric approach. Developed strategies to improve the customer shopping experience and measure results. REGIONAL DIRECTOR (Mar.1984 to Jan.1987) G & G Shops/RAVE, New York, NY Led five District Managers and was responsible for 49 stores in the Southern Mid-Atlantic with total volume exceeding $29 million and successfully opened 30 new stores in the California Region. Selected Results: Ranked second of six regions for volume increase over last year (1986) and the highest percent of increase – Top two District Managers in chain for the Christmas contest. SENIOR DISTRICT MANAGER (Oct. 1977 to Feb. 1984) Brooks Fashion New York, NY Supervised one District Manager and two Area Supervisors with 25 stores in Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Volume of approximately $13.5 million. Selected Results: Supervised western expansion, which resulted in the successful opening of 16 stores in four months in California, Oregon, and Alaska and developed five Store Managers into District Managers.
