PETROSYNC’S PETROPHYSICS SERIES
Enhance Your Geological Interpretation with the Right Well Log Data Analysis
18-22 July 2016
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
GEOLOGICALINTERPRETATION
OFWELLLOGS
2. 2
The course describes all aspects of the principles and methods associated with the geological
interpretation of open-hole well logs. The class deals with both well-established and newer,
more experimental tools, showing how log data can be used to determine lithology and
interpret facies, stratigraphic and structural features.

How Does This Course Benefits You?
PetroSync Quality Assurance
All PetroSync courses are developed with top quality to
address all your training needs and purposes. Our courses
are vetted strictly to ensure that we always deliver the best
courses with the best industry expert.
Learn What Logging Tools to Use and When to Use them
Differentiate the functions, physical principles, and limitations of logging tools used in a
standard logging suite and their applications for geological interpretation. Attendees will be
able to demonstrate the differences between logs acquired using wireline conveyance and
logs acquired whilst drilling.
Enhanced Geological Interpretation through Logging Tools & Data
Attendees will be able to analyse well logs and cores, together with other available data, to
produce a coherent geological evaluation. The well logs will be used to determine lithologies
and interpret facies, stratigraphic and structural features. Furthermore, attendees will be
able to know how to employ dipmeter and borehole imaging tools and analyse their
interpretation patterns to indicate structural and stratigraphic features.
Generate Important Geological & Geophysical Data from Well Logs
Determine shale volume, porosity, and water saturation from well logs. You will also learn
how to correlate between wells using well logs, integrating other available down-hole data to
enhance data analysis in the field.

Course Overview
Comprehensive Geological Analysis through Logging Data
This program shall teach how logging data can be a complementary set for lithology
interpretation, facies recognition, log sequence analysis and correlation. Individual logging
tools will be described in terms of basic functions, physical principles, and geological
interpretation.
Includes Specific and Practical Case Studies
There will be frequent work sessions throughout the course using real data. The course will
include computer-based demonstrations of well-log interpretation software.

Who Needs This Program
Practical & Consulting
Jenny has over 27 year of experience in the industry.
Previously, she was with Enterprise Oil for almost 15 years and
then moved to consulting work with AGR/TRACS International
Consultancy. She has been a consultant working on multi-
disciplinary and standalone evaluation projects in a variety of
global and geological settings. Including in depth knowledge of
most UKCS reservoirs.
Training
Jenny had taught industry courses to a number of professionals
for sub-surface disciplines. Her specialisation has been with
petrophysics application, reservoir characterisation, integrating
core-analysis, geological and geophysical information. Her
programs has always been well-received by industry
practioners internationally.
