 Stress is the psychological, physiological and
behavioural response by an individual.
 Stress may be considered as any physical, chemical, or
emotional factor that causes bodily or mental unrest and
that may be a factor in causing disease.
1.Economic benefits: Reducing stress increases an
individual’s productivity at work and reduces the
number of days they take off.
2. Physical health benefits: Being stressed consumes
energy and nutrients which could otherwise be used to
protect the body (e.g. from infectious diseases)
3. Psychological health benefits: Reducing stress
improves sleep and reduces irritability, anxiety
and depression.
4. Relationship benefits: Improved interpersonal
relationships with co-workers or family members.
Stress management is a wide
spectrum of techniques and
psychotherapies aimed at
controlling a person's level
of stress, especially
chronic stress, usually for the
purpose of and for the motive
of improving everyday
functioning.
1.A decrease in anxiety
2.A reduction in pain
3.Improves physical and mental
health
4.Memory , focus and other bran
functions improve.
5. Impatience, irritability, anger
decrease.
Before discussing stress management
techniques, there are several factors to
consider.
1. Understand your stress.
2. Identify your stress sources
3. Learn to recognize stress signals.
4. Recognize your stress strategies
5. Implement healthy stress management
strategies.
6. Make self-care a priority
7. Ask for support when needed.
The techniques are categorized into three
groups:
Action Orientated Approaches: used to
take action to change a stressful situation
Emotion-oriented approaches: used to
change the way we perceive a stressful
situation
Acceptance-oriented approaches: used for
dealing with stressful situations you can’t
control

interactions
• Clearly set out worker’s roles and responsibilities
• Encourage participation in decision making that affects
individuals roles
• Encourage open communication
• Establish no tolerance policy for workplace discrimination
• Engage an external consultant to suggest a fresh approach to any
existing issues

 Take a lunch break
 Go home on time
 Take your holiday leave
 Participate in work functions
 Establish open and
professional communication
 Respect other employees
 Do not tolerate discrimination
of any sort, report any instances
1. Make art -- draw, color, paint, or play a musical
instrument.
2. Work on a scrapbook or photo album to focus on good
memories.
3. Read a book, short story or magazine.
4. Meet a friend for coffee or a meal.
5. Play a favorite sport like golf, tennis, or basketball.
6. Do a hobby like sewing, knitting, or making jewelry.
7. Listen to music or watch an inspiring performance.
8. Take a walk in nature.
9. Take a relaxing bath and feel the stress wash away.
10. Meditate or practice yoga.
11. Work in the garden or do a home improvement
project.
12. Go for a run or bike ride to clear your head.
Stress happen when we are not happy or could not
solve our personal matters. There is no chance to live
life without stress. But you have the power to deal with
it, to control it and use it in your favor. Without stress,
there is no growth. So find a way to control stress and
reduce it. And after every stressful situation, you need
some rest and renewal to balance yourself and your
health.

Physical health benefits: Being stressed consumes energy and nutrients which could otherwise be used to protect the body (e.g. from infectious diseases) 3. Psychological health benefits: Reducing stress improves sleep and reduces irritability, anxiety and depression. 4. Relationship benefits: Improved interpersonal relationships with co-workers or family members.
  • 5. Stress management is a wide spectrum of techniques and psychotherapies aimed at controlling a person's level of stress, especially chronic stress, usually for the purpose of and for the motive of improving everyday functioning.
