EA is Still Going Down, Though
2. So, it would seem that EA has let everyone know that Dragon Age: Inquisition is BioWare's most
successful launch ever. They didn't share any sales info, of course, but they did say that the solo
campaign mode has already been played for over 113 MILLION hours. Dang, fellow gamers...we play
that quite a bit, eh? This is awesome for Bioware, but it seems that EA's numbers are still dropping over
time. Guess Bioware's awesome games aren't enough to keep their profits as high as they've been in the
past.
A rep from Electronic Arts has stated that this is based on the amount of units that they've sold for the
game, but that they won't tell us what that number is. Dragon Age: Inquisition was released back in
November last year for all platforms.
3. Electronic Arts saw their 3rd quarter end on Dec 31, 2014, and their posted numbers show that their
overall profit is down by about $10 million from the previous year.
They have stated that they were the top publisher for the PS4 and the Xbox One all over the entire
planet, apparently. They got this due to Dragon Age, Titanfall, Battlefield, and a ton of sports games that
I don't particularly care for myself.
4. They did mention some other intriguing numbers. Stuff like:
The monthly users for their mobile games average about 160 million.
SimCity Buildit has had twenty-two million downloads to date (released back in December).
Crazy numbers, but even so, I still can’t tear myself away from Dragon: Age Inquisition. After all, I do
have things like a specializations guide to be writing, amongst plenty of other things…like saving the
world (ya know, in the game…)!
