2. The government of INDIA set up the small
industries development bank of INDIA (SIDBI)
under a special act of the parliament in October 1989
as wholly owned subsidiary of the IDBI .
The bank commenced it’s operations from April 2,
1990 with it’s head office in LUCKNOW.
The SIDBI has taken over the outstanding portfolio
of the IDBI relating to the small scale sector.
It is the principal financial institution of the
promotional, financing, development of the MSMEs
and for the coordination of functions of the
institution engaged in similar activities.

“To facilitate and strengthen credit flow to MSMEs
and address both financial and developmental gaps in
the MSME eco-system”.
Vision
To emerge as a single window for meeting the
financial and developmental needs of the MSME
sector to make it strong, vibrant and globally
competitive by providing modern technology platform.

INTRODUCTION
This is a major new national program
designed for new/ existing MSMEs to;
 facilitate investment,
 foster innovation,
 enhance skill development,
 protect intellectual property
 build best-in-class manufacturing
infrastructure
 Provide growth opportunities
 Provide timely and adequate financial
assistance at competitive rates through soft
loan fund.

10. All MSMEs as per MSMED Act 2006.
Emphasis on financing smaller enterprises within
MSMEs and also new enterprises in manufacturing as
well as service sector.
Existing enterprises undertaking expansion/
modernization/ technology Upgradation/ other
projects for growing their business.
Focus on all the identified 25 sectors. In addition to
help MSMEs across other sectors, deserving proposals
from any other sector can also be assisted on merits.
NOTE :- Loans extended under the scheme cannot be
used for repayment of earlier loans.

11.  The main objective of SIDBI is to provide the financial
assistance to all SSIs and MSMEs throughout the India
through its various schemes by making use of various
institutions which are engaged in its activities.
 SIDBIs motive is promoting industrial development in
India, it emphasizes on the SMALL SCALE
INDUSTRIES and not to earn much profits.
 The larger portion of the profits are utilised for the payment
of interest to long term securities.
 It made it possible to meet almost all the essential
requirements of SSI and MSME.
