2. The cultural landscapes of the Honghe Hani Rice Terraces in Yunnan, China, were recently
inscribed on the World Heritage List. The 16,603-acre site is marked by spectacular
terraces, farms, and villages that have been continuously cultivated for hundreds of years. The
following slides taken by Scott Dietrich illustrate the exquisite beauty of this landscape.
