1. Don’t waste time on quotes
Racking up a host of quotes is time intensive
and not necessarily as effective as the old
“hedge your bets” adage might suggest. When
it comes to T-shirt printing most agencies offer
competitive prices – you should be suspicious of
prices which seem Primark low – so it’s best to
find an agency which offers a full complement
of printing techniques (that way you know you’re
being offered the most suitable technique for
your needs) and specialises in customer service.

2. Get to know your printer
This one can be especially useful if you are a
serial printer. Everyone loves repeat business, but
everyone also loves awesome customer service,
so if you can find yourself a trustworthy, reliable
printer then that is half the war won. They should
be able to provide you with good prices and
discounts, but most importantly they can advise,
guide and simplify the T-shirt printing process
for you, because, after all: they’re the experts.

3. The cost will always fluctuate
Always remember when you’re budget planning
that the more complicated things are, it’s likely
that the T-shirt will cost more to produce. Simple,
one colour T-shirts are always cheapest to print,
while screen printing is best for printing large
batches of T-shirts. Check out some of our expert
tips here, or find out which printing technique
may suit your needs best here (or do neither and
have our advisers guide you).

4. Don’t leave it late
More often than not T-shirt printing agencies
will do everything they can to make sure
you receive your printed goodies on time
– particularly ones who you’ve founded a
relationship with. However, certain aspects of the
process take time which can’t be cut out. With
that in mind, don’t leave it until the last minute to
order those printed T-shirts – a late scramble is
not good for anyone’s health.

5. People can help
with graphic design
We can’t speak for all agencies, but we certainly
have some talented in-house designers who can
take the complications of designing out of your
hands. If you’re worried or struggling to decide on
fonts, positioning and colours, then let someone
who specialises in that area ease your stress
levels. More often than not the graphic designer
will liaise with you to help create the perfect
T-shirt for your event, brand or product.
