The value of mortgage transactions

Although there is a decrease of
-15% in the total number of
transactions, the value of total
transactions stayed at AED 10,311
Million, almost same with the
previous quarter.

is a calculation
utilized in the Rent
Vs. Buy Index that
compares the totals
costs of
homeownership
with the total cost of
renting a similar
property. In other
words, if an investor
buys an apartment
unit and rents it out,
how many years
takes to pay for
itself. Because of
sales prices
outperform rent
prices, P-R-R is
increasing.

Around 2,200 residential units
have been handed over in 2013 Q1.
The most notable delivers include
Spirit Tower in Sports City, Lakeside
Tower in JLT, Bay Central in Dubai
Marina and Al Furjan Villas by
Nakheel.
Most of the upcoming residential
supply will be located outside of
Central Dubai in areas to the South
and East of the city. The largest
proportion of future supply will be
delivered in the Dubailand (7,900
units), Business Bay (3,800 units)
and Dubai Sports City (3,800 units)
