3. Throughout time children have not been able to see the color of a fellow playmate’s skin. Atticus was ahead of his time when he taught Jem and Scout never to judge a person based on the color of their skin.

4. Throughout the ages sibling relationships have been a very important part of childhood.

5. In both current times and in the novel children could always have fun outside.

6. Just like in the novel, children have always enjoyed being in the water.

7. Sadly, hunger remains as part of the challenge facing many children today.

8. Lunchtime has long been the favorite part of many children’s day.

9. Childhood adventures have changed since the Great Depression but other pastimes such as swinging have remained a joyful childhood activity.

10. During the Depression as well as today blowing dandelions is a simple pleasure that children enjoy today.

11. Swings are a pleasure that will never be outdated.

12. Being alone and outdoors was more common in the Great Depression than in current times.

13. Kite flying has been a pastime that has survived centuries and been enjoyed worldwide.

14. The road through childhood is paved with many adventures both now and then.

15. Childhood adventures will eventually come to an end but the ties we have with our siblings will last throughout our lifetime.
