- So, brainiest square kilometer of Europe, why? It’s not just an empty marketing statement. Can we support this with facts. Yes we can:A bit more than 50% of all patent applications in the Netherlands come from this one square kilometer.Together they account for 50% of private R&D expenditures in the Netherlands.Belonging to the 17% largest science parks according to IASP (nr of employees)And appointed by the Ministry of economic affairs as campus of national significanceGreat, all these facts and recognition, but the competition in the international networked economy is enormous. The challenge is always how to keep our position or even better how to improve it.

- February this year we organized the first edition of #swHighTech. Normally the Campus is abandoned on Friday evenings,but not this Friday. This Friday evening this auditorium was filled with people and energy. 150 people were present that evening. And they all shared the ambition to launch a company over the weekend. And they did. In one weekend 12 companies were launched. The nights were short though. This picture is taken at 4 in the morning.Next edition is planned for October during DDW. Then we’re going to blend design and technology, designers and techies.
- And in today’s economy successful innovation is not something that you can do all by yourself. You have to cooperate with others. It’s about smart connections. Open Innovation is the sure-fire route to success and High Tech Campus Eindhoven is perfectly equipped to fully facilitate it.
