Professional and Ministerial Biography
Hello, my name is Rabbi Mark Rantz. Since my introduction to Messianic Judaism under the leadership and
discipleship of Rabbi Barry Budoff, at Ahavat Zion Messianic Synagogue in Beverly Hills, CA., I have been
involved in both lay and professional part and full-time ministry, with core competencies in the areas of
Messianic Jewish Hospital Chaplaincy, Rabbinical and Congregational Leadership, Theological and
Tolerance Scholarship and Education as that of Holocaust Awareness, Literary Scholarship and Advocacy
for Israel.
From 2003 until 2011, I served at Kehilat Ariel Messianic Synagogue, in San Diego, CA under the
leadership of Rabbi Barney Kasdan as a Shamish, Chavurah Leader and Educator, Rabbinical Intern and
Associate Congregational Leader. For close to four years, I also served as the primary Assistant Instructor at
the “San Diego Messianic Jewish Theological Institute,” where I taught courses on Jewish Lifecycles,
Messianic Prophecy, Jewish History and Holocaust Studies.

In 2011, I was ordained as a Messianic Rabbi and now minister as the Rabbi and Congregational Leaders of
Congregation Rosh Pina in Owings Mills (Baltimore), MD. For the past number of years I have been
involved of Messianic Apologetics, Holocaust and Theological scholarship, Bible translation and as a
Scholar in the development of the first Messianic Jewish Study Bible. Within the greater Body of Messiah, I
and am a highly sought after Guest Speaker on issues Messianic/Christian relations, the Nazi Holocaust,
Jewish Feast and Lifecycles and the Jewish Foundations of the Christian faith.
Since early 2012, I have served as the Regional Director of the Baltimore/Washington D.C. chapter of “The
March of Remembrance” under the leadership of Pastor Jobst Bittner and Ted Pearce. On a local level, I
have also assisting in areas of program planning, education and literary training on the Holocaust and in
Advocacy for Israel and Tolerance Awareness.
I have likewise assisted both Tikkun Ministries International and the Union of Messianic Jewish
Congregations (UMJC) as a Conference Educator in areas of Israel Advocacy and Shoah Studies, and
leadership development. Toward my overall core ministerial competency, I am also successful in
developing ministerial teams, establishing vision and direction for a community and implementing
reasonable goals toward outreach and congregational growth. Furthermore, after close to 20 years working
in Informational Technology, I bring to the table proven skills in the area Web Site Design and Social
Media, which aid in the growth, outreach and development of a Messianic Jewish community.
