Re: Rachel Ragosta, PA-C
To whom it may concern
I am most honored to write this letter of recommendation regarding the promotion of
Rachel Ragosta, PA-C to a clinical faculty position with the University Of Washington School Of
Medicine through the MEDEX program and the department of Family Medicine.
I have known Rachel for many years now and have worked with her professionally on
many clinical and educational projects. She has pursued these projects with remarkable passion and
excellence. Her clinical competence, integrity, character and academic ability are of the highest
caliber. With respect to Rachel’s academic and educational skills as I would say she has already
proven herself in the track record she has established as a valuable member of our medical staff here at
St Lukes. She is also a critical member of our medical education team. I am also very familiar with
how Rachel is viewed by her peers and I believe her track record of clinical excellence and teaching
has gained her an excellent reputation. Her teaching and writing skills are quite excellent, as is her
ability to synthesize and develop new ideas. Additionally, she has a multitude of other talents in this
regard, including an excellent grasp of hospital based care, as well as clinical molecular genetics. As
proof of this is the fact that she won a Golden Apple teaching award this past year for the teaching she
has already been doing in MEDEX.
On a personal basis, her interactions with peers are collegial and straightforward. I have
had the opportunity to witness these skills in the work that I have done with her. Rachel is a pleasure
to work with and is someone who works quickly and effectively. Indeed, I would think the
combination of her brilliant intellect, professional skills, and collegial personality makes her a very
effective academic clinician.
I wholeheartedly support the appointment of Rachel Ragosta, PA-C to a formal clinical
faculty position with the University Of Washington School Of Medicine. I would be happy to discuss
any aspect of this letter with any members of the review committee.
Sincerely,
Gregory T Carter, MD, MS
