10. 2015 – Scientific Culture
New Spanish Law of Education
Scientific Culture is a compulsory subject taught in 1ºBachillerato (Students
are 16 years old). Its objective is to give all students regardless of what they
are specializing in, knowledge of key scientific issues (genetics, evolution,
new medicines, new materials, biotech, etc). It is taught to three classes
and 80 students.
Curriculum
The three teachers of the subject decide to implement a minimum of 1
materials per evaluation (3 materials/year minimum).

The implementation of the Engage materials at CODEMA is coordinated by
the University of Barcelona
11. Life on Enceladus - Activity Plan
Prior to Activity
Scientific Culture teachers meet to organize when and how to implement
the activity and prepare all materials needed. Students are informed on the
Engage Project.
During the activity

conclusion sheet to organise them and reach a conclusion. Finally each
group is asked to comment one evidence and their conclusion
